Well, he's 13. And he wants a laptop. He just went to Middle School-7th Grade. He says he gets alot of homework. But we already have a computer. But he says he needs his privacy and that he is old enough. I know I can trust him, he is an "A" student, behaves and is kind to his siblings. But laptops are expensive. He is willing to pay $100-200, though. Should I let him have a laptop? And if yes, can you suggest some good quality yet under $800. Thanks.

Long story short: Dad goes on business trips 24/7. Never home for holidays like, Christmas, New Years..etc. This has been going on for almost 10yrs. Then out of the blue, he came back home with a kid. he said this was our " half-brother". He explained that he was drunk when he "accidentally slept" with one of the party friends he's w/. He lied about that, one of his friends called our house and told my mom that he & that woman is married overseas, and shes took dads money & left. Dad was not "sorry" about what he did, he told us that we have to accept him becasue he's one of "us", we are all a family. My mom was hyterical, I was so mad I almost killed my dad (I'm 16). He says he has no money, so he need to stay with us, (we are in a tight budget too, it's really hard to feed extra people). He now acusses me, that I am a bad big sister and that I treat him like crap ( I never did any of that, I can barely even look at him, so I ignore him) But I can't take it anymore, plz help?

because you didnt have time to take a shower in the morning..and by 11 am your smelling really funky so you use bathroom soap but that only makes it worse..

My step sons mother has admitted to being on drugs and is homeless, he has been with me and his father for a while now, she has told us that she is going to come get him and take him to another state...we have no custody of him at all...we didnt push the issue because we didnt think that she would go this far, now I need some way to stop her ASAP from coming to get him and taking off with him. Any advice?

Husband was recently ordered to pay child support for his daughter from a previous relationship. We (hubby and I) have the child 3 overnights per week. Can the child support be reduced if we ask the courts to do this? Thanks!!

okay, my boyfriend of 8 years and father of my 2 kids died in a work related accident on may12, 2006. he was driving semi. his boss did not have workers comp on him. we live in mn and their is a special fund if the employer did not have it. so they might pay up to 15,000 for the funeral costs. my question is are our children eligible for any worker comp benefits? are there any? we live in mn. i do get social security, but that doesnt add up. are there any lawyers or anyone that knows anything about this stuff? thank you for your time.

A guy and a girl meet for the first time when they are both teens. They are not blood-related to each other, and there is passion between them. Is it fair to force them to supress that passion and make them act like brother and sister?

How about instead if they are adults? Then would it be ok for them to have a sexual relationship. Would it be ok for them to get married?

I'm 18 and my dad and I don't get along it's been this way for as long as I can remember I really want out of the house trust me I have my reasons.. I was going to go to community college this year but my friend in Florida offered me a place to stay (her house) rent free, her family invited me to live there. I'd get a job and save money for college. I live in Illinois

I just graduated and I don't wanna wait to go to college is there anything I can do? I want to graduate on time as well. not in 6-7 years. How long do I have to be a resident in FL to attend community college there? My parents weren't going to pay for school anyways so I figure I might as well move out and be happy.

I'd love to prove them wrong. My dad never believes in me. I'm visiting FL in august and i'm trying to decide if I should come back or not.

I know where i'd be happier, Florida. But as for money and debt i'm scared. Financially i'd be better at home.

....i am sometimes melencholy, and i cry alll the time...can someone help me deal without talking to anybody or counselors...p.s. i am an adventist so i believe that my mom is not in heaven, but sleeping until christ comes so dont give me any of that "she is happy in heaven" crap.

I was adpot by my real dad's borthers me and my borther now they are not togother anymore and we are with my uncle and his two kids and his wife is living by herself now everytime he is angry at us he always he make the biggest mistake of bringing all of us with him we have to go to y aunty (now the my mum) but we feel sorry for him he is 54 he is sick if we go no one is going to look after him. Well me and my brother still have two sisters living not far from us can we go there and leave him by himself and his two go back to thier mum please help I am only 14 don't know what to do but kill myself everything I do is always not good enough for him.

Ok so I live with my mother (father passed away years ago) I am 19 now and she does not understand the need for me too start college and focus on that and my grades etc..all she talks about is how I need a job etc too pay for food and help with bills since I am an adult now. I can't seem too make her understand that I am still kinda like a kid..19 is not a real adult..it's legally an adult..but at 19 your still kinda immature and need too focus on school..What should I do?!

I can't take it anymore, he is driving me up a wall! I need some way to stop him. The bad part is that it his computer and he thinks that he is entitled to look! I am still a minor and live in kansas, but is there any legal actions I can take aginst him?
