Some parents think it's funny. Others are never going to be happy with ANYBODY you bring home, so they want to drive them away. If it's any consolation, my father is 6'3" and carries a gun. He is intimidating even without trying. Eventually, it will better. My dad says I can get married when I'm 60. lol

My dad did that to me just to see how brave the guy was. And to see if he would ever come back around again. I hated so much but I got used to it. And some times it was for the better that he did.

there rlly kinda just looking out for u. they only care. try to just not be affected by it and if it gets to bad talk to ur parents

my theory is that parents don't want their kids to leave for good they want their kids to be with them forever so i believe that parents embarrass their kids so that their b/f or g/f gets kind of freaked out and dumps them then the parents have their kid to them self.

many possible reasons (probably a little bit of everything):
1. they still think of you as their baby
2. they want to "test" your date
3. they don't like your date
4. they don't want you to date (too young?)
5. they are too protective of you
6. generation gap
