Family - July 2006

My mom grew up in poverty.When young,she worked hard 2 earn money so that her brothers and sisters can get proper education.When she married, it was not exactly a happy marriage but she held on for the sake of me & my brother. My father died 10 years back & she had to work again after a gap of 25 years.I became an engineer and my brother a doctor because of her hard work. i had a love marriage 3 years ago,not exactly against her wishes but she was not exactly happy with it either.Now, after a big fight, my wife has walked out of my home.and my wife has flatly refused to try to reconcile.
my mom, in her old age, has to witness all this. She is upset all day. I WANT 2 MAKE HER HAPPY, BRING SOME CHEER IN HER LIFE. HOW DO I DO THAT. PLEASE ADVICE, PLEASE HELP ME.

She gets what she wants. She got a trampoline when the whole family was tight on money. She got a swingset at the exact situation Whenever you have someting you like to have to yourself for awhile, shell comein the same room and ask what you are doing. And she insists that she uses it too. Then im told to share but i was going to use my toys (yes i have a gameboy and a few toys that i had awhile that i actually PLAY WITH THEM!) first for awhile then let her join. Once she plays with me she takes over and tells me that i cant do this or i cant do that. Its my possesions she should ask if she wanted to take over. Oh yea and whenevr my grandparents hug her or try to do any one, she goes "ugh hmmph" or she groans and then screams and groans again Then they say sorry and tell her that its ok. When i did that (ocasionally) when i was little i would get in trouble. She follows me everywhere. When ever you say a fun word like booterfoonger
shell say "ITs 'Butterfinger' Katie" then get mad.

It's cause my husband is in jail and I feel really bad doing something for myself you know. He can't do nothing at all in there and for me to go out and have a good time I just feel so guilty. I know he would like me to go out and have a good time but on the other hand I just don't think I could do it. I don't wanna just sit home and cry all day. Should I go out and have a good time or just stay at home and do something at home?

Would it be wrong of me just to wash my hands clean of my family? My mom and I are always fighting, she has been a drug addict since I was young and she claims she's trying to get clean. My sister fakes injuries for attention (even going as far as making the injury very real and sometimes costly) and my dad hates my husband and has no respect for me. I mean I know other people don't have a relationship with their parents anymore, but it makes me feel guilty for feeling this way. When I was just starting out they helped me here and there with some cash and they keep rubbing that in my face when they need something. But, it would be nice to just be rid of their nonsense. What would you do? (taking in mind I have two small children that might one day want a relationship with their grandparents and aunt)

I don't have any kids of my own, so this is new for me. My step kids just moved in with us and the girl just turned 13. Her dad doesn't want her to date, but I found out she has been dating even though he told her not to and often lies to cover it up. Should I bust her, or is she old enough for me to try and convince her dad it is ok so she won't have to lie and do it behind our backs?

My parents are so negative. Sometimes it seems like they have nothing good to say about anything. I don't want their bad moods to affect me and how I live my life. I don't want them to rub off on me and I don't want to become a grumpy old person. I wanna get out of the house but they won't really let me go anywhere. Any suggestions on what I should do?

This is the problem...my mom is a alcholic and she wont get help. She is out of control when she is drunk..she calls me names...calls and harrasses me when I wont take her to the store...(4 more liquour)...she badmouthed me and my boyfriend after she barged in my apartment...and today she broke my window when I wouldnt answer my door. This has been going on for years and I'm tired of it..I at the point where I want to move out of the state. But that means leaving my little brother. So my question is what should I do? How can I deal with this? I do need advice on this...I'm ready to change my number to escape from this.:-( I dont want to hate my mother but my feelings are getting ready to get there.

I am 22 and have been married for three years and I have one 2 year old son.I am literally UP IN ARMS not knowing whether I want just one or two kids.
My fears are basically I know that they are alot of work and I dont want to end up asking myself "what did I get myself into"??!!
Also I picture myself constantly stressing over every intricate detail of making sure that 2 kids have lunches packed and school supplies and homework and two differnent sports interest.ex.ex.(I know that sounds petty but I am a very spazmatic person who constantly worries and I dont want to bite off more than I can chew)
The benifits I see would be my son having a companion and playmate growing up instead of being isolated.As I am sure I will also love this child to peices(no doubt).I just want to really think about what I want before I take the plung.Its now or never at this point in my life.And I just need some advice from ppl who have 2 or more children because like I said I REALLY DONT KNOWwhatIwant.

Both my parents do not let me live my own life, they are always tryin to tell me where i can go or where i can and cannot stay.
I know they are only trying to look out for me, but i am not 19 years old nearly 20 and it is starting to really annoy me, i never got into alot of trouble when i was younger, nothin at all really, and i dont see there REAL reason behind it, i'm starting to want to move out of the house, cause it feel like i cant do anything, they tell me i can't go clubbin till all hours, or that i aint going out at all, i don't know how to exactly tell them to just shut up and let me live my life!

My dad has been living with me free of charge since last year. He was a dead beat father until I turned 18. He has overstayed his welcome and I want him out of my house! I have asked him not to but he is sleeping in my living room sweating, burping,farting and eating up everthing in sight (he's diabetic). When I tell him he needs to leave he always rationalizes his situation. What can I do annoying or speed up his leaving my house. I have let my kids jump on the furniture, be loud and make noises and he still sleeps through it all. Every day he watches young and the restless and act like they are real people while I try to study. I am a single parent who works part time being eaten out of house and home.. ...HELP! (Real suggestions please, please no dumb stuff)

to a woman that is 30yrs old and has 3 kids from 3 different guys. He just turned 22 and has only been dating this woman for 2 months. Nobody seems to be happy about this situation but nobody seems willing to speak up.

I just think she is taking advantage of him and its only a matter of time before she talks him into adopting her 3 kids and then divorcing him so that he can pay child support for them.

Since I'm not his blood is it even my place to say something? Him and I have always gotten along and he has talked with me before when he was having problems. I just dont want to see him get screwed over by this tramp and I feel if nobody else (his parents, siblings or friends) is going to step in and say something, I should.

Should I just keep my mouth shut or what?
