well first of all it was nice of your dad to go out of his way to buy the bag in the first place. Whether it was the right one or not. I personally would keep it for sentimental values. Who knows you might get attatched to it because of the mix up. As for what would you say. Well the obvious. You tell him thank you and I love you. dads always like to hear that. Say 'thank you,dad' and keep the bag. After few days, if returnable or exchangeable then go to the store and return or exchange for the one you want/like. Explain to dad and I am sure he want feel bad or disapprove.

I would go to the store where it is purchased and tell them that I received the bag from my dad and I wanted to exchange it for the one I preferred. I would thank my dad and tell him I loved him. Usually, men do not notice that you exchanged their gift.

He loves you and hes trying to apologize to you for not spending time with you. It doesn't matter if it's the wrong bag. If you say anything you'll seem ungrateful so don't say anything to him thank him and tell him you love him.
