Grandma is 80 years old and is refusing to eat, so the family comes along and decides to put in a peg tube for feeding, so grandma has this tube surgically placed in her belly and is fed forumula thru a tube in her stomach. Do you think this is cruel and un natural or would you do it to your family member? Most people when they are elderly and quit eating are trying to go thru the natural process of aging and eventually death. Its not uncomfortable to die this way. Its becomes uncomfrotable when the tube is surgically placed for feeding, then comes the diarrhea from the tube feeding, and the intolerance of the feeding which causes these pts to bloat and become nauseated. Tell me what you think?
The physician said the feedings were intended to get pts over the hump, not sustain their life when they are old because they will not eat. Not eating is a natural process of aging. Would you like to be force fed thru a tube in your stomach. Have you ever been force fed? How does it feel?

My son has lived with me on and off for the past 4 years after various problems in his life. Most of the time he's been out of work and I've struggled to cope financially. He got a job 2 months ago and just when I hoped I could see some light at the end of the tunnel, the first thing he does is gets a rented flat and moves out. I feel very angry and upset. Is this wrong?

My bf and I love kids and are getting married soon. I can't wait to have one myself and am excited for the forthcoming year. We are both 21 and share our bday on March 21 (1985). Should we begin to try for a child next year or wait until we are around 30?

I work in a hospital and I am always amazed at what kids will do to keep their parents out of a nursing home. Do most people realize you don't live in the hospital? We don't keep people their because they are elderly, we treat acute illness and then send mom and dad or grandpa on to live with the kids or to a nursing home or some other pre arranged home. I think some kids will go to any extent to keep the money their parents saved. Kids want it for themselves. They see it as their inhearitance and will go to any extreme to keep them out of anything that cost money they saved for their old age. What is your plan for your parents?

My husband and I have been together for 10 years since high school. We each had a few relationships before, but nothing serious. I have always had the impression that my mother-in-law didnt like me. She makes back-handed compliments and I just pretend to not get what she is saying. I am just polite and nice.

A few weeks ago, we were all over there for a BBQ and in front of everyone my MIL told my husband that she found a box of something that he may want. He asked what it was and she told him it was a box of old letter. He said " Oh from (my name)?" She said "No they are from girls you dated before. I think the ones from (my name) were thrown out a while ago."

My husband and his sister went into the room and started reading them. A while later, my mother in law went in there, and brought out pix of my husband and his ex's. I gave my husband the "I'm ready to leave look" and he told me we should leave.

The details:
My Wife died three and a half years ago. I kept custody of my stepdaughter after a LONG HARD custody battle. My twins turned four just after I left for deployment. I am deployed to somewhere that may make my children orphans and has made orphans and widows of many other military families. In their 4 years of life I have spent over half of it away from them due to military responsibilities. My wife before she passed asked me to make sure that I raise my children. Due to deployments and other absences rewuired by my careerI have not been able to keep that promise. I want to stop leaving them with others every time themilitary send me away but I am able to provide them a good secure life in the military. Outside.....well, as with all single parents the questions of health care and a home and all sorts of othre related issues become a problem. I honestly don't know if I can afford to put a good solid home over thier heads but I do think they and I have already sacrificed to

My sister is married and has her own home, but she's been living with my mother for five months (since she got pregnant). She says the smell of her house makes her sick. I could believe her at first, but now, she's just freeloading and expecting my parents to pay her bills and do her laundry and feed her and her husband while my sister lays on the couch all day doing nothing. She's not on bedrest or anything. She's just lazy. Just because she's pregnant doesn't mean she has to stop living her life. My parents want her out too, but they don't want to hurt her feelings. I'm married as well, and have a family of my own. I can't even spend time with my mother because my sister is always there. Help please!! Any ideas would be appreciated.

My parents set rules that are obviously unfair. Everytime I try to confront them with my problem, they say I have an attitude or try to punish me. They make me get off the phone during the summer @ 9 while my friends stay on till like 7 in the morning. They never let me stay at friends' houses or even let me go to the movies with them. How can I solve this problem or at least get to talk to them about it?

My father says that because I am the daughter and he is the father, he should never have to call me to talk, I should always be the one to call him. I shouldn't expect him to call, just because, and I should always call him. What do you think?

Is there a relationship you value more...the one between you and your parents OR the one between you and your kid(s)? Can you even decide? Is the one with your parents steady or already established, while, the one with your kids needs more attention because they still need guidance? Whats your take?
