I am deployed to somewhere that may make my children orphans and has made orphans and widows of many other military families. In their 4 years of life I have spent over half of it away from them due to military responsibilities. My wife before she passed asked me to make sure that I raise my children. Due to deployments and other absences rewuired by my careerI have not been able to keep that promise. I want to stop leaving them with others every time themilitary send me away but I am able to provide them a good secure life in the military. o much. My childhood home lies abandoned and in need of a bulldozer or a miracle. My children are growing up with out a mother and if I stay in the military they may grow up without a father and at best be raised by a constant string of helpful strangers as I travel the world to provide a safe home for them. How do I take this and all the other stuff that I haven't filled in to get the tv show to help.

Home makeover has specific criteria for selecting a house. First, you have to already own the property, it be less than 2000 s.f., and the work be permitable by the city.

Also, you have to have a really good story.

Sounds like you're kinda feeling sorry for yourself a bit..

Providing a home for your family isn't about the house.

Send them your story. Best of luck to you.

Do you know a deserving family who desperately needs a home makeover? Perhaps it's your family? If you would like to nominate your own family or another, then print out our application and send it in, along with a video and/or pictures! The Extreme Makeover team could be coming to your neighborhood!

Umm... I think it's as easy as sending them a tape!

Plus the military can't deploy you if there are no parental units around to take care of them. Talk to your CO.

Check with the network that hosts the show, they should have a way to apply. Good luck to you, and thank you for your service.
