Sometimes, age and relationship have nothing to do with whether someone respects you. And sometimes, the person wanting the respect has nothing to do with it either. A huge amount of it all is whether the person you want respect from can actually respect other people. And then, of course, there's the question of whether you did anything to lose your cousin's respect. Then, there's a whole 'nuther direction to go to get it back. I hope that's not the case. Respect is earned not given. If you have done everything you can think of to earn it then it is all up to him to come around.
