Dude, my dad is one of the nicest guys alive, unless it came to me seemingly. From what I am told, his dad was the same way to him. His dad died whenever my dad was only 18. My Dad and I are both only sons. Growing up, my Dad was always so proud of me, I guess, whenever he was talking about me whenever I was not around, but never that way to me. It was like I could never really do anything good enough for him. Having said that, he did anything and everything for me. Never missed one of my ball games while I was growing up, in highschool, always picked me up from practices etc.
He will never be the type of guy to share emotions, but, looking back now, even though it was hard...he just wanted me to be better than him, have a better life than him and so forth. I think he saw alot of the same negative traits in me that he and my grampa have/had.
I am 28 now. I have experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows that this life has to offer. I hope, and I think, I have made him proud. We go to football games together; We watch sports, music, etc. together on TV; party together whenever we can, (I always invite him to bach parties and such). It is so cool.
Whenever my wife left me and destroyed me, my dad did anything and everything for me. He didn't set and talk to me, let me cry on his shoulder or anything like that, but he mowed my yard, cleaned my truck, did any kind of work for me that he could to make my life easier. Like I said, he aint the emotional type, but he cares more than words probably can say.
They say there is nothing as strong as a fathers love. I believe it. Everyone always points to the mother, but I don't know. Last year, one of my best friends was killed in a car wreck. His dad was just like mine. I will tell you I have never seen anything as horrible as the pain, terror, horror in his fathers eyes.
If a father is a MAN, then there is nothing stronger than his love for his children. I am not a father, but I firmly believe that.
Why in the heck would a father not be a father to his son after he gets married? That is crazy! ...and why in the heck would a son not want to go places, hang out and be with his father?
They wont be here forever! Do the right thing!

Of course it's not true! *chuckle*
Does a son stop being a son when he gets married? Hopefully not, unless you have some kind of majorly dysfuctional relationship going on! When a man gets married, that doesn't mean he no longer cares about his parents or wants to be in contact with them. If anything, he probably appreciates them more (well, if he becomes a father, that is). A son is a son ALL his life, as long as there is love between him and his parent/s.
And everything I said about goes for daughters as well. :)

My son will always be my son until the day i die he may get new titles like husband, daddy etc. but he will always know that he is my son and i want let him forget it. No one in this world will ever love you like your mother.
