The other day I was having lunch with some friends. 3 of them so happen to be single black woman in their late 20's. They told me that statisticly black woman have the hardest time finding marriage partners. Is this true? Is there such a statistic? If so why?

Summary: Brought up in household with drug addicted parents. As the eldest child, I spent most of my childhood and teen years taking care of my sisters and everything else. When I left for college, there was a backlash from my sisters. When they did not have a place to go, I moved out of the dorms and took three months off from school to get an apartment. Today, they are both doing pretty well. One has a great job and her own apartment with her two daughters and boyfriend. The other is heading to a top medical school with her boyfriend. I've always been there for them. The only thing I ever wanted from them is to get the same loyalty they show their boyfriends & friends. My sisters go out of their way to do things with them, spend time with them, and help them out.
Anyway, I went through a major depression point. I tried to tell my family what I was going through. They weren't there. They were too busy,etc. My sister tells me today that 'u got everyone kinda scared to talk to u'. wth

You know how they say women get easily emotionally attached to guys?

Well I don't. I have a friend with benefits, and it's been two and a half months and I'm still not emotionally attached to him.

The only way I get emotionally attached is if me and the guy share deep thoughts and secrets. And me and my friend with benefits don't do that so that's why it's easy for me to NOT get emotionally attached..

Am I the only one? Normal or no?

I moved to FL about 10y ago from PA where my parents, grandparents and other family live. When i left, my grandparents were full of life and very healthy. Since then, my great uncle (whom i think of as a father) has suffered a stroke, and the health of my grandparents, now in their 80's is deteriorating. Being in Florida, I feel like I am letting down my family by not being there to help take care of them. Although my grandmother/grandfather will sometimes say something like "I wish you were closer", they vocalized their understanding that I am starting a new life in FL. I have a wonderful new son (almost 7mo) who is the joy of my life and although he makes me very happy, I almost feel guilty that I am enjoying life/family without my parents/grandparents, ect. How can I find peace within myself. Just yesterday, I felt a sense of panic about their safety (or because of my own inability to be near them). How can i overcome these feelings? I love FL but I miss them so much.

i have been very nice n everything to my bf but latly ive felt that he doesnt really care one way or another..its been goin gon for about 2wks or so and i just now want sum help on why this is so or y i feel like this
so he invites me over on a tues...for friday or saturday..which is o.k. but then he says im going to my friends on friday..im kool with it then on sat..u cant come over my mom is sick..its kool.but then i find out its not really he just wanted 2 stay at his friend's longer i wouldnt mind i just would like to know..then he come s to skool..no hi or nuttin..when i leave he doesnt say nethin gor come to me and then hes wearing another girl's poneytalil 2 of em on his wrist.which i look at it as if u only do that if uve dun things.now the friends house he kinda drinks and im worry and he hasnt mentioned anything they did.i just want to know the truth.im 15 and i just wanna know if i should leave him or keep him am ia *****

In my divorce papers it said every other weekend of every month beginning at 7pm on friday and ending at 4pm on sunday. Now he wants to take me to court to get me to drive the kids to where he move to , i dont think that a judge would ask me to do that ,he is the one that moved and the kids have lived here all there lifes,they are two teenagers. how lazy is ther father. Should i go to court and file papers to have this changed,so he cant do this to me anymore.

I moved here on a Friday and his ex died on Sat. His family knew she was a bad mom and wife but got to know and like her over their 15 years. They didn't get to say bye to her or go to the funeral. But here I am in the middle of it all. His sister-in-law apologized for blowong me off in the beginning, she said she liked Shelly. My husband has been very critical of my appearance and well actually everything about me. My personality, my humor, my housecleaning, my driving. You name it. I am not overwieght and I get flirted with and have been asked out by men who didnt know I was married before. So i must not be that repulsive. He told me that a young women at work had a better body than me. It hurt me badly and he said sorry he just wanted me to get into shape but realizes now its my personality he actually had a problem with but there is nothing I can do about it, and he loves me anyway. Well now I am extremely insecure about my looks and I cant go to movies where there is nude women with him without feeling extreme emotional pain. He says I am ridiculous and get hurt over dumb things. I dont think I will ever trust him again, which also makes him very angry. I need to know if its normal for me to be bothered by him looking at other women nude women. I have been told by other women that it is not normal.

v r in luv for 2yrs. all was fine till now. we belong to orthodox families. are families will never give permission for marriage. but we still thought when the right time came we will ask their permission. my bf was the one who used to say lets get married even if our parents doesnt agree. and i was the one who used to say we should respect their feeling also and should seek their permission even if it takes some time.cause we belong to middle class indian families. yesterday all of a sudden he decedided we cant get married for 5-6yrs cause he has 2 younger sis too. & if he marries me they will suffer cause they will not get grooms. this is because we belong to different castes. he says if i luv him i will wait. cause he thinks i can. yes my parents are supporative when i say i need time.but 5-6yrs!!!
i am 27yrs old. waiting for 5-6yrs means telling our parents at 32. i am the only child of my parents. they respect my decisions. but they too have their own dreams regarding my marriage

We were together for almost 11 months .He called me 2 days ago and asked me to give him some space. He studys for a difficult Bar exam. I was supporting him without any complain .
He said that I have two choices :Break up or give him some space for a while(5 months) so after that he will build this realtionship again .He said he loves me but he can not make my happy during this time ...During our conversation he was talking about his exam ,his mortgage and his company !!!!so What about me ?What's my role in his life ?All I offered to him during our relationship were Love ,Passion and sacrifice without expecting alot from him .
I don't deserve this .If I 'm a part of his life why he wants a break from me?It doesn't make sense .
He said that I'm so sweet and he loves to be with me but taking care of his problems is more important than our 1 year relationship ...

My wife does not work. She seems to be in good health. I can say that because we go out together for dinner, movies, etc. Although she complains about exhausion once in a while, I think she is averse to work. She had some post office work to complete (30 min). I asked her to get a check from a store which is not too far from the post office and she lost her temper. She can argue with me for hours together but cannot seem to drive to a near by store (total drive time is around 40 min and work is around 20 min). Is this fair or pregnant ladies cannot drive/work even 1hr a day? Is pregnancy a disability? I would appreciate any input from ladies who had similar experiences and can provide some input

My current girlfriend has starting asking me about my ex-wife looks. You ask me this is a lose, lose situation. If I tell her that she is not attractive, she will not believe me. If I tell her that she is attractive I believe this may sadden her. One day she will see a picture of her, and see that she is pretty attractive. As of now I have no pictures of my ex-wife, they are all put away in storage. I love my current girlfriend, and I see myself marrying her in about a year, and my ex-wife, as beautiful as she is, she was a horrible wife. Yes I feel that my current GF is insecure and does not realize the beauty that is within her. Have you ever had a dream in which you cheated on the one that you are with, & you had no control over the dream, but in the dream it felt real & you were made to like it in the dream.

But when you woke up, you were like, what happened? I don't even like that girl/guy!

Do you ever tell your partner if you do this, & do you ever feel bad for it?

Sometimes if it happens, you can't control what you dream, & it feels awful to have to have a dream like this, even though you know you have no hots for this person in the dream, cause your happy already, right?
