you will not forget all the memories, I do not know why you would wish to. I mean not all good things come to an end, so try being patient, he may come back around and realize that he truly loves you and wants to be with you. Let him be free to explore do not pressure him to feel the same way that you feel. Why not exploring your options give some guy out there a chance! Who knows you might grow to love him and share new experiences with him that will make you forever Happy!!

it's hard to forget the memories, especially the good ones. maybe you shouldn't, they're there for you to cherish, after all he was your best friend. instead, learn to accept what has happened and forgive him for what he has done. time really heals all wounds, it's very true. give yourself time to grieve, but move on. go out, travel, learn new things, meet other people, and try to fall in love again. don't let your world stop spinning just because you two broke up. maybe later on, he will realize he really loves you and by then you'd have moved on and he has missed out on a great gal.

You dont ever forget the memories but it sounds like u need to get out and find someone of ur own. He has moved on so its time for u to do the same. U can try to be friends if u truely miss his friendship, but remember u will also have to be friends with his new girl.

Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life . . . You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you apart pain. I hate love.

You'll never forget all the memories. And honestly, you won't want to. Because now you've been in a relationship with someone, and you know what you deserve. And you obviously deserve better. That's what relationships are about, trial and error. It may hurt now, but just keep yourself busy, and pretty soon, you'll realize that you've forgotten all about what's-his-face...
