My wife was always polite to her when she came to visit or vice versa. Things have gotten worse since my father died (my wife adored him) a couple years back and I always heard the aftermath of a visiting but protected my mother from it until last year. We went to thanksgiving at my mom's house. I asked my mom two months in advance to clean the house well because my wife is allergic to pets. The house was a mess. My wife endured sneezing, coughing and feeling sick for 5 hrs. and didn't say a word. We had a 5 hr. drive home and fought like banshees.
I confronted my mother to ask for some reason or apology and was met with her taking no responsibility and starting an email flame war with me, my wife and her where some nasty things were said. Christmas came and we bought and shipped everyone gifts. We never got anything in return, not even a thank you. My mom pretends like it didn't happen and turned my family against her. My wife refuses to even talk to her let alone get/receive gifts.

My Wife and I divorced nearly 20 years ago. Our kids are grown and married now, but didn't live with either of us since they where 16. I didn't realize this for years later. I didn't have a great relationship with my children thanks to the mother, we lived states apart and I wasn't going to force them to visit me. I would drive 500 miles to get them and they slowly one by one stopped coming for summer visits to please her. I did send money every month, but I sent a money order and did not go through the court system, not only did I send money but I also purchased thngs they needed or wanted. I was there when they called on me and left them alone when they didn't. Basically they used me. Now the mother is sueing me for back child support through a place called support collectors who informs me that the money I sent in the form of a money order all those years is not a valid child support payment that is would be considered a gift. And they will get 30% of anything collected.

I met the love of my life last May. Two days after we met, he gave me an engagement/commitment ring. It is a single perfect princess diamond in a Tiffany setting. We fell in love immediately and have been living together and going strong without so much as even a difference in opionion (let alone an argument) all this time. We are both divorced and have decided to wait at least a full year before marrying, as neither one of us EVER wants to go through a divorce again.

I would like very much to get him a "wedding" band for Christmas, along with some other gifts. I know that he is traditional and that he kept the wedding bands that he got from his previous wives. It would make me very proud if he would accept a ring from me. We often refer to ourselves as husband and wife when we are introduced - either that or we don't correct people who assume that.

Would that be an unusual gift or just lovely and romantic as I intend it?

I would love some opinions from men on this.

ok . . . my gf broke up with me back in march and said she wanted to date around and see whats out there and all that good stuff after a 2 year relationship. . she starts dating this kid i went to high school with 2 weeks later . . . i hate the kid so its obviously a bad situation for me . . . so i try to get her back for about 2 months and in the middle of june i went NC . . on our 2 year anniversery at the beginning of july she send me a text that says . . "today was two year" just to remind me of it i guess . . . and ever since that text she has been calling/texting/leaving voicemail/or emailing me once atleast ever 2-3 weeks . . . a few times in was 2-3 times in a week . . . i have not responded to her or anything . . . so its been 5 months and its still going on .. .she is still with this same guy so she obviously knows we cant be friends be cause of the situation.. . . . . .so why does she keep trying to contact me?. .

I'm a girl, but I'm going to ask this from a guy's perspective to see what my guy friend should do with his girlfriend.


My girlfriend flirts with other guys in front of me, and we don't flirt as much as we used to. We've been dating not too long. Two months? Well, I know I've kinda distanced myself from her and we haven't talked too much. She isn't meaning to flirt, she just has a TON of guy friends and is a very outgoing girl. I know she really likes me, she's just felt hurt that I haven't been talking to her as much, so she has been spending more time around them. She says she isn't flirting, it's just her personality.
I've also been avoiding her recently, I haven't let her talk about it with me, even though she wants to talk about it and work it out.

I still like her, it just annoys me that she is hanging around and being playful with those guys so much.

Should I break up with her? Or stay with her and talk it out?

However, I do have feelings for him and want to send a Christmas card. Two in my mind - not sure which is more appropriate. One is a general, basic Christmas card and the other is what I think is cute and funny, "If you want to nibble on something sweet at Christmas time" (candy on outside), inside "You know where to find me." It could be my personality that i care for and good to people. Especially my friends and even strangers at time. When they have emotional problems, i will be there to help or be a listening ear. I worrid about them getting into trouble and sometime buy goodies for them on festive day and medicine when they are sick.

My ex-girlfriend was quite annoyed with me for all these. Now i know this girl i really like and i often tell her about people problem and at time tell her i m sad when i cant help much or happy when i have manage to overturn the tide.

I got a feeling she is not impressed with this also. But it is just my character. I know a girl want to be and feel special and thus what i did do other make her seem no different from others. Is it wrong for me to to care for HER and other? I know i somehow treat her better. If it is wrong. how do i change it or what should i do?

If my girl and I have a problem she always wants to not talk about it and tell me how she is feeling and I always want to get to the bottom of it. She will not say a word and I feel like I need to solve it or our relationship will be over. I know that it is extreme but I just feel like if I leave her mad at me that she wont get over it and tell me to take a hike. You know how you see it in the movies and it's just so cute and you think this must feel really nice and I can't wait to do that and then you do it and you realise it's BORING even though you really like the person you're with and it's just disappointing to do it every time since it's just exchanging saliva, you're kissing and you think to yourself can we put on some music and you think of jawning but you can't...it's frustraiting me since I have a friend who could do the french (or normal) kissing for hours because she likes it that much but I just don't feel it!

I am a very emotional person ... an educated beautiful person. I cannot seem to get my ex-husand out of my head and my life. As a bit of background, we still talk and spend time together. Our relationship is very passionate and extremely intense. For most of the relationship, I have been seeking his acceptance and understanding of me ... It's something I hear people say so often to the poor bastards who genuinely admire them, and it's so bloody condescending. Do people not realise flattery is FALSE praise? For crying out loud, when you say 'I'm flattered', you're really saying 'I feel like you just gave me a compliment you didn't mean'. How freaking rude. Is it so hard to say 'thanks for the compliment, but I'm already seeing someone' or equivalent?

Sorry about the rant, it just makes me really mad!

Well i have been hanging out with this guy for about a month and a half. We have a great time together and enjoy eachother's company very much. We hang out every weekend and he stays over my house all the time. But he just doesn't want a relationship right now and i understand that but i do and he knows that. Now here is the thing he tells me to just go with the flow and let things happen even though there may not be nothing right now other then "friends".
