About three years ago my mom had an extra-marital affair. She cheated on my dad with my sister's friend's dad. My brothers and sisters are now living with her. I moved with my dad the very same day I turned 18. Now, three years later I sometimes want to visit my mom and my siblings but my dad totally refuses. He won't let me go visit her. He tells me that if I have no shame in what she did. I realize that what she did was wrong but after all she is still my mother and she raised me to be good. I feel bad about my dad but I still want to visit my mom. Does my dad have the moral right to prevent me from seeing her. I've had to see her behind his back because he says that if I go visit her I might as well stay with her. He says I will betray him if I hang out with her. They are now divorced. She has custody of my siblings.

I went out with this women I met online and I really seem to like her. We talked a few times though emails and the phone. I think she is very attractive. When we did finish our date we did cuddle in the car for a little bit, because it was pretty cold that night. I also told her that I didn't want someone who was clingy. I would like to know what you ladies feel about this.

I am a married working woman with a son. I love my husband but is fed up of rude behaviour, taunts. Other wise he is ok. Off late I had wrote a sms of love and leaving and stored it in the drafts folder but did not sent it to anybody, because I dont have anybody. I love my husband only.I have tried to convince him but he doesnt understand. Now, he wants me to leave my job and be entirely dependent on him. But, if I leave my job and become dependent on him then I would be committing the biggest blunder of life because I know my husband better.

Why do YOU think there is so much pain in loving, and is it the reason so many people act blase about it?

Honestly, I read all the messages up here and one thing shines through - Alot of people are hurting. I know I have, and probably will again, but we keep coming back for more, don't we?

Personally I think there is so much pain in loving because during love, you are growing, and so your heart and mind have to stretch, when love threatens to break, your heart needs to re-adjust to the absence of the influx of "good feelings" and that is hard because it involves so many feelings of rejection. When love is over, then the spaces need to heal, and yet your heart remains enlarged in its capacity to give, and the vacuum of not giving or receiving burns at you, an unsatisfied longing.

Friend or bf. i have been friends with a guy for two years. in the beginning he thought that we were going to get together. to be serious with each other, but i'd already fallen for my boyfriend. now my bf is doing stuff like blaming me for everything, and we arnt too happy. I still love him and try and work things out, but he says things cant go back to the way that they were. He wants me to go live with him to make everything right. I'm starting to see my friend differently, he's always there, never gets pissed at anything, he's a very chilled out guy. and i'm kinda like that, my boyfriend is competitive and gets angry. i hate being angry. i asked my friend the other day about the time we almost got together, and he said that things always come right in the end. that we have something good even if we aren't together and he wouldn't wanna lose me. i started to see the way my bf is with other people, and he can be an ***, worse than with me. although he's starting to with me too.

Ok Girls and Gays. Need some advise? I think I’ve messed up the first date with this gorgeous girl. It was a blind date so you can imagine it was a bit difficult to be spontaneous. Now I want to ask you gays and girls what I should do to get a second date. Should I leave a message that she should let me know when she is free for drinks (give her the power) or should I approach her in a friendship manner, you know go out for drinks just as friends for now. The trick is I want her to know the real me and not the me on the first date. She might not even return my calls or sms’e so I also need a plan there. This is important to me so please help me!

Ps: This one for the girls. Do you prefer a gay to call you or sms you in this position that I’m in? And for a regular date? Don’t want to be seen as a “pissie”

How would you know if they're in denial, if they have never experienced it before?

Any tests that can be done to find out? (apart from jealousy-gets very jealous when I mention other girls).

Has started acting weird towards me, when I ask why, says she's tired, has a lot on her mind, feeling a bit down. Has only gone weird with me, no one else. When I ask if she wants me not to get in touch with her for awhile i.e.reply to her txts/not meet up, she ignores the question. Is she implying yes?

Whats up? Could I have done something (as a bloke we're not always aware of this!)?

We're very close, (has said we'll only remain friends after we kissed once). I encourage her to get with someone she likes (always says there is no one, tells me she never pulls, etc), we chat about everything, meet regulary etc...

p.s. she always txts me first/gets in contact with me (90%)

I'd worked w/a guy for 3yrs, & while developing a heavy crush on him I didn't have alot of confidence in me. He was living w/his gf, but had always indicated that he wasn't happy. As I was ready to date again, he'd mentioned a friend that he thought was perfect for me. I took this as a hint that there was no chance for us. I began dating another, & while doing this, he'd moved out from his gf's apt. Co-workers mentioned setting him up w/girls & he'd stated that he wasn't ready for this. After 2 wks, when we were in our division alone he'd mentioned in a joking way that he was waiting for me to ask him out for drinks. Being that I was involved, I'd blown it off w/an "I'm sorry" in the same manner. A couple of weeks later, he moved back in w/his gf. He'd joked around later that he'd asked me out, & I turned him down. The "crush" keeps in touch. The bf & I are no longer together. He's still w/the girl but is unhappy. It hurts but should I give up? I do want the friendship! Ty!

My boyfriend is a Marine who's stationed in San Diego, but just yesterday he received orders to transfer to a base several hrs north (in the middle of nowhere). He just got back a month ago from being in Iraq for 7 months. We're pretty crushed about this situation b/c besides him, I don't have any family or many friends down here and he hates the idea of having to leave me again.

I told him I would move out there with him to be by his side. It probably sounds crazy, we've been together only a year, but I've never been more sure about anyone and would sacrifice it all for him; he is the love of my life.

I'd like to get some other military spouses' opinions. Did you need mention of marriage for motivation at any time? I know some girls who would need that ring on their finger in order to do what I'm considering, but I am wondering, am I a fool for thinking about this? Honestly I'd rather go through hell with him, than without him. Please share any stories or experiences, thanks

when i was in kindergarden, the boy i liked got hit by a van...he survived, and then he told me that he liked me too...we were together until the end of second grade, but i wanted it to last longer...the reason it didnt was because we were moving halfway across the country...i guess he was mad at me...i was going to say goodbye to him, but when i went to him, he looked at me as if he hated me, and just went off with his friends...i cried myself to sleep every night and i still do most of the time...i loved him, im in eighth grade now and i still love him to this day...you might say that im too young to understand the meaning of love and that i should just get over him, but i will never get over him!

People tallk about NOT loving because they want to protect their emotions and their feelings and not get HURT. So, they build up walls. But, if WALLS are built to keep PAIN OUT, isn't LOVE also NOTgoing to be able to COME IN?

We lived together for three years before we married and I thought he was divorced. We married September 9,2006 at the Dunsmuir in Oakland. Colors, black and purple. We spent a whole month on our honeymoon in places like Arizona and New York, it was wonderful. I was led to believe that he was divorced and now I find out that his wife of fifteen years, not only thought they would reconcile but instead HE has filed for divorce. His wife and children lives in GA and he states that she is an unreasonable, and controlling person; she won't allow the children to speak to him (at least that is what he states ). Can I believe anything he says! Is my marriage built on this foundation worth anything?
