love can mean many things but in the end its up 2 your own beliefs, many people think that love is to know them for ever, some think that it is when you get the butterfly feeling inside. i myself think that love is based upon trust and understanding your partner, hope this helps.

in my humble opinion:-) the essence of love is between self-sacrifice and respect.if these qualities are absent, then the feeling can no longer be called love.in no way is love to be confused with infatuation or blind passion since they involve a high degree of selfishness...one more idea:if a mate is not loyal in his/her heart, then forget about love!

Love is a degenerative mental disorder that must be brought under control. As our Christan friend above has said, "Love" is not "Sex". Sex is fun, love gets you nailed to a piece of wood.

If you want a description of love , read about Christ in the bible, and you will see what he did for humanity, that is love... Love is not sex, and sex is not love...

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Love is acceptance--if you're talking person to person-its acceptance-you got faults, I got faults-but we accept that and love each other. We accept our parents (despite what we conceive at faults) and love them. We love our children (despite what we conceive as faults) and accept them. Love is just "I'm in my dirty underwear--but ain't I cute??:" And you say--YEP!!
