Why do YOU think there is so much pain in loving, and is it the reason so many people act blase about it?
Honestly, I read all the messages up here and one thing shines through - Alot of people are hurting. I know I have, and probably will again, but we keep coming back for more, don't we?
Personally I think there is so much pain in loving because during love, you are growing, and so your heart and mind have to stretch, when love threatens to break, your heart needs to re-adjust to the absence of the influx of "good feelings" and that is hard because it involves so many feelings of rejection. When love is over, then the spaces need to heal, and yet your heart remains enlarged in its capacity to give, and the vacuum of not giving or receiving burns at you, an unsatisfied longing.

Firstly....YAY FOR THE SOUTH AFRICAN GIRL!!!! I'm also a proudly SA!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed reading your oppinion on this - i think it shows insight into love etc. My thoughts are this: I think that we as humans have a basic need / desire to love and be loved and that is why we keep coming back for more - no matter how hurt we've been or how hurt we will be. I've been in two serious relationships (long term ones) and both have hurt very much (esp when I ended them - as I knew they were the wrong people for me) BUT I have a hope: (call me optomistic...) but I think that love only hurts if its WRONG (ie if its the wrong person or the wrong timing etc) but because we have this basic desire and NEED for love (giving and receiving) we go for relationships even when we know they;re wrong. BUT I still have a hope that love will not hurt and will last for ever when I find the right person :)

have you ever heard the song "Theres a thin line between love and hate" well it goes that way in relationships , its a job u take on when you involve yourself in a relationship and all relationships have lessons to be learned. Not everything runs smoothly in any relationship, they take work and dedication by both involved, there's no one right way to do anything within a relationship as all are different. How ever if anyone finds them self in one that theres any type of abuse , they owe it to their self to realize they deserve better and not withstand it for any reason! that doesn't mean walk away the first thing but bring it to the others attention and if they want the relationship badly enough they will work on themselves to resolve the issue that allows them to be abusive. And if both are abusive then they both either decide to get help or end it for their own sakes. staying in that kind of relationship does no one any good and can leave scars that will never heal.

Disagree, love does not outcome in attachment, that is loopy. If you're keen on anybody it does not imply you have got to be with them 24/7 purpose yeah on the way to lead to anguish. Sure my brother might love me being by way of his part at all times.. Love is happiness with a few style of anguish connected at a few degree, whether or not that be loss of life, separation and many others not anything is superb. So disagree.

There is nothing painful about love. If love is painful for you and others, then perhaps you guys must have done it wrongly. The greatest source of love is that from God. For that reason, love cannot be painful unless we do it wrongly.
Think about it; maybe it's us loving in the wrong way, expressing it to the wrong person, or even manifested it with wrong expectations. Hence, love became painful.

There is pain in everything. LOVE is a pain because because once you love somebody you want him/ her fully and till you donot get it you feel pain. If the Loving relationship doesnt work you feel pain as you have to Break. Moreover, when the LOVE converts to a Marrige it becomes more complex and complexity tends to provoke pain.

why is there so much pain in loving?beacuse we often the choose the wrong person as the target of our affection.that's why I believe true love grows only after the two have come to know each other well.ergo fall in love with the person you know not with the qualities you presume he possesses!

One must accept that the life has ups and downs. Love has an important role in our life. Love has sacrifice and forgiveness. Those who has love can face life without difficulty because they do not see the present, they can see the future and run.

Simple. Balance. The world must remain balanced. There is no light without dark. No pain without joy. No bad without good. No life without death. So on and so forth. Love is happiness and joy but it is also pain and suffering. That is why there is pain in loving. But there is also joy!
