I want to know If I can get into an Ivy or equivalent school (MIT, Caltech, Stanford.) I was born and raised in Puerto Rico so I get a big break from that. My GPA is 3.96 of 4.0 (school has no honors). My max scores on the SAT were M-700 CR-680 W-580 but I want to study Engineering so the writing shouldn't matter too much. I'm in my school's math and science teams, belong to the NHS and Student Council, and took the most advanced courses my school offers, some of which were basically made for me exclusively. Even with that though, I know it's still pretty hard to get into schools like Harvard and MIT. Do you think I can make it? If not, what can I do to help my chances?

I played French Horn in a band, practiced fencing, and help with charity drives when I can.

I havea 4.3 GPA, am taking 5 APs in a hard military academic prep boarding school. I have the highest leadership position in my military school and JROTC. I am also class vice-president and ASB officer. I am involved with Boy Scouts, Beta, Key, and Lions Club and other service clubs. I am a team captain of varsity track, CC, and rifle team. I have won many military and academic honors. My highest SAT score is 1850 and ACT score is 28. Is it possible for me to get to Stanford, Johns Hopkins, U Penn, Cornell, Duke, Emory, or any of the Ivys?

Can anyone recommend a good online school? My friend just graduated from the University of Phoenix Online and she already has a good job. That school is a little too expensive for me, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that has a list of the best online colleges and their prices? Thanks.

How do you find out if you can transfer credits from one university to another? For example, my family is looking at relocating to the southern states and currently live in Michigan. I am attending Davenport University online and would love to transfer to the University of Texas online. Would it be better to get mt associates at the University I am at now and then try to get my bachelors at Texas? Someone who knows how this works and can give me some real advice please help.

does anyone know any careers that would give financial security?? I thought of being a doctor but it's not something I'll enjoy doing forever, and second thought about pursuing business, but it's way too risky right?, so i was just wondering are there any other careers worth going after that will give me financial security after college/uni? because i want to be able to support my family in the future.

I'm filling out a supplementary application form for my university. One of the questions they ask me is "please tell us anything else about yourself that you would like us to know when we review your application". I want to write
"I may not have the best grades in the province but I believe grades do not make a person. I am a very social person who works well with people, and possess the necessary skills needed in the working world. I hope you take this into consideration when reviewing my application thank you."

what do you think? Does it need rewording?

I want to apply to a Harvard graduate degree program in a few years. Would it make a difference if I take some undergrad-level courses in the same field as a continuing education student at Harvard? Or do you think that will have no positive impact on whether I will be admitted?

16 now. Ive done my gcse's an got A* in art, A in Eng lit, B in Eng lang, B in business S, C in double award sciences (2 GCSE's) , B in maths, B in graphics, D in german, B in prse . Im currentley doin AS's in Art, graphics, Media studies and doin alrite. Im thinkin of stoppin eduacation after my a'1s(1st year 6 form) as feel im burnt out wiv education completely. My best mates exactly the same about it and were thinkin of gettin jobs and buyin a flat cuz we both cant stand livin in our households anymore(lot of problems). The brush of wind on across my face, my parents shouting who knows what in Spanish, the goal was approaching. I was ahead of everybody and at the age of 7 I felt on top of the world. Two more steps and I kicked the ball into the miniature yellow goal. “Gooaaaaaallll!" ..............(i dont know what else to write)

I have a question, what do I need to do to get a Scholarship to a good business school through baseball?
I go to a school with a lousy baseball team (not to many people here are fond of baseball)... And im not going to lie my grades arent top notch but does that matter too much if you are good at baseball? Also I failed 9th grade last year.... (Something happned and I missed the whole half of first semester and the entire second semester)..will this affect me going to a good school? If they see I got my self together and got my grades good and im a killer at baseball? give me some insight so I will know what to do. I want to go to a school like Duke or even yale...

I did not do well on the LSAT, and both times I have taken it I received the same score. I studied hard and even took the Kaplan course that was $1300. My GPA is average and I have done research on my likelihood of getting into schools. I don't think I will get into any. Should I still waste my money and apply. I am applying to about 7 schools and I have 3 schools that the likelihood is average. What do you think?

I am just wondering if I am good enough to stand a chance to get admitted to top universities like UPenn, Harvard and MIT?

I am a Chinese male Malaysian with a huge passion to travel across the ocean to study in United States. I have excellent high school results (8 distinctions out of 11 subjects taken) & I study in one of the best school in my country.

I am taking SAT soon and my average SAT score was about 1870.

I currently live in Ohio, but plan to attend SBCC in the fall of 2008. I just wondered if I could transfer to the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) after spending one year at SBCC. Even though SBCC is a community college, is there any sort of social life there? And lastly, is the acting program good at SBCC and UCSB?
