That depends on a lot of things - how much the college professor earns (which can vary widely), whether or not that college professor owns a home, what s/he does with his/her earnings (if they give a lot to charity or spend it on medical or work-related expenses, it is less taxable than if they spend it on other things), whether s/he has kids living at home or not. In other words, college professors pay taxes at the same rate as every other taxpayer in society.
