I have a question, what do I need to do to get a Scholarship to a good business school through baseball?
I go to a school with a lousy baseball team (not to many people here are fond of baseball)... And im not going to lie my grades arent top notch but does that matter too much if you are good at baseball? Also I failed 9th grade last year.... (Something happned and I missed the whole half of first semester and the entire second semester)..will this affect me going to a good school? If they see I got my self together and got my grades good and im a killer at baseball? give me some insight so I will know what to do. I want to go to a school like Duke or even yale...

Well, to begin with, neither Duke nor Yale has a business program at the undergraduate level, so you still need to do some work on your goals. Secondly, I am assuming that you are redoing 9th grade this year if you missed 3/4 of it last year? If everything from this point forward were to go well, I assume that 9th grade would matter less to some schools than to others. Schools do make some accommodations for phenomenal athletes, but grades still matter, especially at a school like Duke. You might be able to get away with the 3.8 rather than the 4.0 you would need otherwise, but you would not be able to get by with Bs and Cs at a school like that. And keep in mind that if you were to go to a top school like that, you would be competing with the brightest students from all over the country while having to spend a lot of your time on baseball while they would be studying. It wouldn't bode well for your being able to graduate.

As far as baseball, I don't mean to be so negative, but if the team is terrible, you will have trouble being noticed by scouts if they are so bad. If your participation on the team turns them into a winning team, you might be okay, but no one will notice your play if the team itself isn't doing well. I enjoy working with student athletes and don't want to discourage you, but it doesn't seem like a terribly realistic approach to me.

i would try to excel in both grades and baseball since your school isnt exactly known for its baseball skills...the chances of getting a scholarship could be slim to none even if you do become very good in school later on, so focus on grades!!! trust me!
