I know we always need to have a backup for colleges in case our first choice did not get us in. How many should we have at least?

I am actually a Freshman in high school right now, but I have been interested in becoming a pharmacist (since 4th grade) at Butler for a long time, and my backup is Purdue University and Kentucky University. Would this probably be good enough if I am certain I am well-prepared?

I am planning on attending garduate school to get my Masters degree in social work (I have a bachelors degree in psychology). I live in Michigan and the main schools that I am looking at are Wayne State University and the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. U of M has been ranked as the #1 school of social work in the country for 10 years straight.

Why is the U of M ranked so highly? Would I be better off spending more money going to the U of M or spending less and going to Wayne State? Would I have a better chance at getting a job with the U of M degree or will they both be equal?

Thanks.

U of M pros: Higher ranked, more prestigious.
Wayne State pros: Closer to where I live, costs less.

Which is a better option?

I have to add a resume to my grad school application, but I'm having trouble writing it.
It must include not only my education but also my professional information.
Can anyone direct me to a site or a few sites that have templates or samples. Or even a bit of advice would be great.

I already know about Monster, it's not a great site for this type of resume, but thanks.

Thank you!

I'm looking at colleges that are good with the 'arts' programs, though I'm open to other majors as well. So any information would help.

Why does it seem like many college professors are more interested in proving they more about the subject then the students do? Also, why do many feel that they need to make a class as hard as possible instead of actually teaching? Such as making tests that are "almost impossible to do well on". <-----I've been told this by professors before. Are they bitter or just bored?

I'm a history major, philosophy and spanish minor. I am really in love with the idea of going to graduate school at the University of Georgia because the faculty seem great. I think I would like to focus on France and Germany, possibly the history of science also. However, I have no language background in French, German or Latin. WIll this count against me?

I have 39 history credits, all As. I have a 3.6 in last 60 hours. However, my first three semesters I did not do well, B's and C's, making my overal GPA a low 3.1. Do I have a shot? If not, what other schools offer a strong program with my sort of academic record? Does it matter that I am interested in history of science but have only read books on my own--no formal course work?

I am in the Title insurance business and have been thinking of a career change that would require me to go to medical school. (Optometry) The problem is that I am 33 years old. Do you think this is too old to go back to school for something as difficult as Optometry school?

Hi, I'm from the UK and I will be applying to university soon (About 3 months.. I think). I'd like to look into going to college in America. I have a few questions - Firstly, has anybody from the UK gone to the US to study, if so what was it like, what did you need to do, etc?

Are all the dates for applying the same?

Any general websites about studying abroad would also be greatly appriciated.

Also, (Last question :P) for the Americans who are/have been to college, what's it like?

Thank you!
