I usually listen to non-vocal trance music when working on papers or studying. I can't work in silence.

No. I've never been able to do that. I would easily get distracted or annoyed by the music or especially the commercials. When I work on papers or homework, I prefer it to be quiet and free of distractions.

Yes, always, and so do my kids. Sadly my fave station (drive 105) is no more. It's just been replaced by Love 105--playing all love songs that weren't even good when I was in high school! Sigh, need some tunes so I can study for finals.

I fond music with lyrics can be very distracting, so I limited myself to classical and jazz at a lower volume then usual.

nope, almost all of my friends say that they "can't concentrate without something to ignore," but it really distracts me. I either can't focus at all or I super-focus; it has to be really quiet for me to super focus, so I usually do my homework at night. (which doesn't help with the procrastination...)
