No problem. First of all, you should have had a letter from UCAS with you ART number on it. You need this to apply on line. Go to Student Finance Direct and it will take you through the process.
If you have any problems, there is a phone number you can ring. They are quite helpful. The only thing is, you have to send off your birth certificate and another form of ID, most people send their passport so you will have to speak to them and see what else they will accept. Get on with it quickly.
Hope this helps.

Hi there, you should apply immeditaley through Student finance direct. Log on to www.studentsupportdirect.co.uk and go to the 'forms and guides' section where you can download the application form. Alternatively you can apply online. Make sure you send off all documentary evidence before you go away. Believe me, the longer you leave it the less likely it will be that you will recieve your finance at the start of the term. DON'T leave it until you get back, they get so clogged up. Also be aware that if your local area is part of the pilot scheme, they are pretty useless so expect things to take MUCH longer. You can get all the info you need on the web address I have provided. All the best and have a great time at Uni. If you need any help with anything else email me stargatesg1_prometheus@yahoo.co.uk

Student loans are offered through student finance direct, which is the Students Loan Company in partnership with your Local Education Authority.
Not sure how soon you can apply if it's your 1st year and your offer is only conditional but it's worth getting in touch with them now.
My daughter is starting her final year in September and she has to have her forms for next year's funding in by the end of this month.
There is a Customer Support Office; their number is 08456 077577

Hi Miss Terious,
You need to apply NOW!
Contact your local LEA, who will send you the necessary forms to fill out.
I think uni should come before a holiday but make sure someone can open your mail for you and notify you when correspondence comes through. If you do not send things back when asked it will delay your application and you will not get paid on time.
The LEA may need to contact you or you may need to contact them during the process, be aware of that.
Good luck.
