Writing is my passion and my dream is to be a published writer, but I wonder if it would be smarter to go to college. I write novels, so having a degree would not help me get published in any way. I'm a widowed, single mother of four, so I know I wouldn't have enough time to do both. I worry that if I go to college, between the classes and the kids, I won't have time to write. But I also worry that the writing may not work out, and then I'd need a degree as a back up plan. Financially, I am very stable, so I can afford to do either.

There was a report on ABC News NOW tonight about a teen whiz who completed her university education in one year. She will be attending law school next and she plans to write a book. This girl is smart and nice looking; she is poised and very well spoken with a vocabulary to die for. Has anyone besides her ever finished college or university in less than a year? Does she hold the record?

i feel so lost i have been out of high school for almost 3 years i've done a year of city year and worked 2 years i am thinking about going to college but feel that i am too old to be starting college i should be in my 3 or 4 year will it be weird i because of my age will it be differant because of my age i also have felony for robbery and feel a degree would be a waste of time because i will be unable to get a good job with felony please help i feel so lost

Most of the prestigious colleges have hit the record with rejection letters. Yale has sent out thousands of rejection letters, Harvard has done the same rejecting fully qualified applicants. John Hopkins has sent out more than 20,000!! rejection letters to most qualified students. I myself have gotten rejected to 2 colleges one of them George Mason and VCU the only ones Iv applied to. I think colleges are getting more difficult to get in to and they have really pushed up their standards because of the large applicant pool of incoming freshmen and they are rejecting even the most academically qualified candidates. What is your opinion on this do you support the actions of colleges? Why? If not then Why?

Which major should I choose before law school if I want to practice criminal and civil law and I also want in the future be a judge.The majors that I like are criminal justice,politcal science and finance.But I don't know which should I choose.I already know the speech that law schools don't care about your mayor but I want to know which one of those three could help me more in my goals fo practice criminal and civil law and be a judge.Thanks a lot....

well my college notes are so low right now, so it would be so diffucult to recover my schoolarship, another college offers me a schoolarship because they accept my high school notes, so what should i do start with a schoolarship in another college or stay in the same college but without a scholarship, and im in third semester.

Hi all,im thinking of doing an acess course and then doing a 4 year degree in oceanography,and then hopefully get a job i enjoy.Im 30 and single,no kids commitments ect.Has anyone out there done anything similar,and do you think im too old to make this a worthwhile pursuit.I dont want to finish the degree and then be too old to find employment in this feild.

Other than assignments, it can be anything else, like when your working, you'll be assign to projects and all.

Usually people tend to ask around, share and exchange the information, journals they found for their assignments or projects and whatsoever.

But for me, i usually keep my sources confidential. I mention nothing about what i found when people's asking me for some information.

Am i acting selfish and rude for not sharing any information with people?
Or do you call this is a strategically smart move?

Because in the future, we'll be working in a world full of competition. Sharing information sounds risky to me.
