I was recently accepted and will be starting Grad. school full time (maybe) in the Fall. I am having serious doubts at the moment because I keep thinking about the fact that I am going to have to dedicate two more years to school. I know that education is worth it; however, would one degree suffice? Wouldn't you be able to get just about the same job with a Bachelors as you would with a Masters? Do employers really care if you have a Masters degree, or do they care more about experience? I am elated at being accepted into graduate school; however, my doubts stem from the financial burden, and the burden of knowing that I am committing more of my life to being in school, versus on a full time job like I know I probably should be. What do you think?

I am a sophmore at a community college. I took the sat reasoning and got a 1660 total. After 2 more semisters and an A.A. degree my GPA will be a 3.7 to 3.8. I have no extra-cirricular activities and no community service. My major is Biology and I want to be a plastic surgeon. How do I get into Columbia?

I am almost 20 years old and I have almost NO idea where I am going in life. I am currently employed at a dry cleaners (not my first pick of a job but the hours are to my liking) and plan to attend college this coming fall. I recieved my GED a year and a half ago after leaving the public school system (left because of a mixture of loathing for the system and clinical depression).

I want a future doing something important. Something to make som sort of change. I am not lazy and I usualy test well off the charts, but I am lost.

I enjoy art, writing, video games, history, math, geology, religion (studying all sorts), cooking for my family, animals (from dogs to snakes to fish) and I enjoy talking (intellectually) about sex. I also have been told that i enjoy a good argument.

I guess what my question is: How do i figure out what I really want to do with my life. I dont want to waste money in school learning to be a teacher when I realize I want to be a chef.

Right Now, I am really looking into pharmacy school. I am almost a junior in high school and am trying to plan early. I just wanted to know if it is really worth it. I like science and biology and anything really medical. The only thing is I am really afraid of vomit and I hate public speaking. I heard somewhere that public speaking is a requirement of pharmacy school. Is this true? If anybody has any knowledge of that let me know. I want a job where I am not really in contact with a lof sick people, like nursing or a doctor. Maybe physicians assistant?? If there are any other well paying ($50,000 and up) medical careers that are not too involved with sickness, as much as possible anyway, please let me know!!

My boyfriend is 23 years old he has his masters degree in English and he teaches part-time 2 classes at a University he has done this for two years now and he wants a full time job. he has applied to all sorts of community colleges but no one will hire him. He is a very smart boy he just needs to be given a chance.. He is working on a novel now and has won awards in the past for his achievements. I think because he's young no one will hire him. It's like you have to be old or something to be a college professor. So if anyone is looking to hire give me a shout. Trust me he could do so much for a school. He's also going back to school for his PH.D but he's worried he'll end up in the same situation now- No full time job. Well if anyone has any ideas I am up all for them. I feel bad I am a nurse and there's plenty of opportunities for me I went to school for only two years and I make better money than him. So if there's any ideas I am up for suggstions.

Hello,

I have a question to ask you here I am 25 years old. Who is finishing a distance education course in Electronics. Would like to ask you for your opinions. Is it too late to go to an offline College get a degree and a career ? I have been dealing in one way or another with Electronics since being a kid. In School did well but like to fulfill my dream. Such as work with building automation things. Such as Robots, Airplanes and other things. Due to personal and "tragic" reasons did not go to offline College.

Gee.... Did I miss my train and no possible future for me to get my final education starting at 25 ?

My problems have finally cleared but so have lost time. I would like to have outside opinions from (you) if it is worth even trying. My Mother says it is not yet late to start. But what if she is only saying this to make me feel good? Since I am her Son. Most of my peers already have finished Education.

What do you think is my situation helpless?

Coming from Singapore, most employers are always on the paper chase. They view that someone with higher qualifications i.e have a degree is better suited than someone who doesn't. I have only a diploma and I do qualify to enter university. However, $ is a bit of a problem. So when I tell people or potential employers that I may not further my education, they give a raised eyebrow and some comment that with a degree, my prospects at employment would be much better! So any views that would help make a better decision as to whether I should further my studies or continue working? (I am already employed in a law firm with my diploma in law. Thought of doing a law degree though)

I have a B.S. in Telecommunications Systems Management, but I've decided to switch my career and pursue an associates degree in radiologist technology. But there is a 4 year college an 1 hour away that offers a Bachelor's of Science in Radiologic Sciences.

Just wanted to know to anyone who works as a Radiologists Technologist if there would be that big a difference in salary between having an associates or a bachelor's in that field. Some people say yes, some say very litte, and some say not that much.

I just don't want to pay a crap load of money at a 4 year college when i can go to a community college and make the same amount of $$$ with an associates instead of a bachelor's.

Hope anybody out there can help!
