My boyfriend is 23 years old he has his masters degree in English and he teaches part-time 2 classes at a University he has done this for two years now and he wants a full time job. he has applied to all sorts of community colleges but no one will hire him. He is a very smart boy he just needs to be given a chance.. He is working on a novel now and has won awards in the past for his achievements. I think because he's young no one will hire him. It's like you have to be old or something to be a college professor. So if anyone is looking to hire give me a shout. Trust me he could do so much for a school. He's also going back to school for his PH.D but he's worried he'll end up in the same situation now- No full time job. Well if anyone has any ideas I am up all for them. I feel bad I am a nurse and there's plenty of opportunities for me I went to school for only two years and I make better money than him. So if there's any ideas I am up for suggstions.

No one wants to hire a full-time permanent employee in any profession unless they are committed to the task. He has a Master's degree, but the real qualification for a college teaching job is a PhD. When he commits to doing his PhD and has made substantial progress (like, ABD), I predict he will be able to find a job. Also, please don't go on about him working on a novel. EVERY English major in the world is working on a novel. When he has the novel in print and it has been reviewed and we can get it at Border's or Barnes & Noble, then he can talk about his novel.

How bad is it that his GF is looking for a job for him on a public access chat site? Time for him to get serious.

I think he'll be in a much better position once he has a PhD. It's hard to get any college job without one, no matter how smart you are.
