Really, I didn't find the courses were EVER the problem, but the professors. I disliked professors with the attitude that they were better than the students. Everyone in the room is an adult in college and should be treated as such. They do deserve respect for earning their advanced degrees, but they don't deserve respect if they treat their students as non-humans. I even had professors who treated their students like they were stupid. I just would not tolerate it and in my Master's program I finally stopped putting up with it and started calling the professors on it. WARNING: This strategy can be detrimental to your GPA, but dang it feels good.

Learn to enjoy the classes that are hard. You are being challenged and you will grow.

honors differential equations.

I never should have listened to my advisor when she said "honors differential equations is actually easier than regular, so you should take it honors."

I also wasn't fond of honors engineering calculus. Our first project was to design a roller coaster that started a (0, 300) and ended at (500,0) (that was easy), then animate it, taking into account acceleration from gravity (I knew nothing about computer programming, so that was not an easy task. Thank goodness there was a computer lab with help hours and someone who had the course the year before!)

I had a Milton course and I was never good at poetry, even though I'm an English major. No matter how many times I consulted my professor or how many times I went to writer's workshop, I could only manage a C+ in that course. Bummer.

Cultural Anthropology 2030

I guess reading about kinship in Ireland and Subsistence Pattern changing in Kenya are not my things.

Fortunately the professor was wonderful and made the class bearable.

Symbolic logic, music, community psychology, and comparative politics. All had more to do with the teachers than the actual course content.

Nothing... pretty much everything ended up being worthwhile - even if I struggled with the material, I may have learned more about myself than the content of the syllabus.

I hated general biology...I couldn't imagine having to take a specialized one.
