He started receiving information from colleges last year and even more have started coming in the mail this year. He is a great student with almost all A's (a few B's have slipped into his report card lately).

Some of this mail states that it is now time for him to make some decisions about his academic career.

Is this true?

Does he need to start making decisions now?

What kind of decisions?

Should we start visiting campuses now?

I am ignorant as to the proper procedure to follow. I went into the Air Force after high school and have just completed my undergrad degree. Please help...?

I'm from Toronto & I was wondering how I would have a better chance of getting into Ivy League or another university in the states.

I'm aware about writing the SAT or ACT. (is it better to write both)?
But in Canada (Ontario ) we don't have GPA's or anything of that sort. (we go by percentages 0-100)

I also understand that i have to be a well-rounded student (joining many clubs, being active in the school etc...)

But I'm afraid that being in a school in Ontario would hold me back from getting into a University in the states. The reason is that Ontario revamps the curriculum EVERY YEAR, making it EASIER and EASIER.

They were almost going to take out Calculus completely.
I was thinking about taking AP courses but unfortunately my school doesn't offer it.
Also, Canada does not have "honour classes".

Anyways, I did some digging around & found a private school that offered AP courses during the summer but the prices ranged from $6000 - 7000 (a little bit TOO pricey).

I'm a US citizen/Cdn resident enrolled in grade 11 in Canada.
I'm interested in applying to US colleges, but I've only studied one year of foreign language in grade 9 (french), and I do not plan on studying it again (partly because I'd have to go back to studying it as grade 10 french). I meet the minimum/exceed all the academic course requirements for most colleges, except for the foreign language.
Should I be concerned? Would it really matter if I had one year instead of two? I don't exactly have a way to take a foreign language again until next year. If I do take the foreign language, I'd be taking grade 10 french as a grade 12. I want to take more challenging university preparation courses in my grade 12 year.
What should I do? Will I be able to just pass by with one year of foreign language? I'm really worried because most schools I'm looking look for 2 years of foreign language. Are these requirements geared more towards kids in american high schools?

I took my ACT today for the first time. I not too sure how i did. I came out of the test with mix feelings. I'm not sure i could have done better, but to tell you the truth i barely prepared for it. I want to take it again, but i don't see the point. So my question is do i send the result, that i don't know yet to any colleges? My mother thinks i should because if i did end up doing good then why shouldn't colleges see it. But i don't want to till i am absolutely sure i did ok! I have to decide ASAP!
So what would you do?

I'm a junior in high school and just cause i am really curious about the kind of college experience i will soon be having. So tell me the name of the college. Do you like it? Is it comfortable? As in does it got a small town kind of feeling or a big city feel? Are there alot of things you can do? Are there tons of clubs to join and sorities. Are there sports? Are the teachers/professors good? Is it worth the tuition money? Yeah so pretty much anything you tell me would be helpful on my college search.

I need some guidance in writing a project proposal. This teaching event will be held in the community, but I am unable to find a sample/format for this type. I can only find grant and business proposal formats. There is nothing of this nature in my textbook and I've never written a proposal of any kind before. Any help to get me started is appreciated. Thank you
