I've heard that besides the weight of each section, when scoring the test they take into consideration how others performed on the test that day, too. Is this true? If so, how much can this effect the score? Can it raise or lower your own score?

Ok, I know you need to have a certain amount of credits before being considered a sophmore, for example, but I can't remember, or find, how many. And how many for each year there after?

Right now, I am apart of quite a few clubs in my school, but I'm not sure whether I should be. This is because I've been hearing people say that it's better to be apart of 2 or 3 clubs to show your interest in those few. I also started 1 club and plan on starting more. If you have any suggestion on which clubs the Ivy league schools may like to see, please feel free to share.

Nursing school is beating me down. No wonder there's a shortage! Clinicals are soooo hard and I have lost all confidence that I can do this job. I am so stressed all the time. It's not just me, the rest of my class (42 ppl) are wondering the same thing. I am wondering if I'm going to make it or not.

I participated in a PhD interview yesterday. As a part of the process, I had two hours to type responses to two essays. I typed my responses on a laptop provided there, saved and saved (and saved again) onto my disk. When I finished, I closed out the laptop and handed the disk to the assistant, who was printing off the responses and putting them into files for review. When she tried to open my disk, it was corrupt! I sat for an hour trying to retrieve the file - NO LUCK AT ALL. I worked so hard on it.

I am really bummed right now. The questions were very difficult and the experience was very stressful. I keep asking myself: Why do I have to this all over again!?!??!!?! Any theories on why it happened?? I'm religious, so I have tried to figure out God's plan all day long.....

i am really shy, and i hate all of the presenting to the class and the participation grades in my high school classes

is that an issue in college classes?

is it often that you present? is participation manidatory? if not manditory, is it expected?

you know how in high school, teachers call on people to answer questions? is it like that in college?

I am thinking about majoring in journalism, but i have some questions for people that have done it.

I know it varies from college to college...

but in your experience, what are the journalism classes like? are they hard? what is testing like? when you are assigned to write, are you given a topic or do you have to come up with your own?

also, do you ever have to do any sort of presenting to the class? do you have to alot?

You see, I am really into writing, and I want to do something with that. One problem that I have is that I can never think about something to write on (for example, if i am trying to write a story)

so i figured journalism would be a good way to go...because mainly i will be told what to write on, right? or at least given an idea?

also, i am very shy...would that be a problem for this major? i am okay one on one, so i think that i would be fine with interviewing, but talking in front of big groups scares me

lastly, i dont have any experience...

Although we are looking at music education, my son may be good enough to go into performance at the Masters level and wants to make sure he is getting good enough training to do so.
My son would concentrate in Saxaphone, with a first love of Jazz.
They have an adjunct sax teacher, but a full time jazz program leader. He is also accepted at Central Mich and MSU, but we like the small liberal arts atmosphere of Hope.
