How many credits for each "year" of college?

Question

Ok, I know you need to have a certain amount of credits before being considered a sophmore, for example, but I can't remember, or find, how many. And how many for each year there after?

Every school calculates credit differently. At my university, it's fifteen credits per year. A four-month course is worth 1.5 credits, while a (year-long) eight-month course is worth 3 credits. So, in theory you have to take five classes each semester for four years to graduate.

It really depends on what number of credits distinguish between a full-time and part-time student. For example, at my university, you must be enrolled in 13 hours each semester to be considered a full-time student. Therefore, in order to be a sophomore you will have had to complete at least 26 course hours.

most schools its 15 per semester, or 30 a year. However, you can have as few as 12 per semester to be considered a full time student and anything less than that is part time

0 - 20 hours to be a freshman
30+ hours to be a sophomore
60+ hours to be a junior
90+ hours to be a senior

But no one really goes by that. It's usually 1st year in college freshman, 2nd year sophomore....etc etc.

I think it's 33 hours.
Every year is about 30-34 hours, until you get into grad school.
