Hi, I have BSc in Computer Engineering plus some technical IT qualifications (MCSE,CCNA) and been working in the technical field for 5 years, I would like to switch to IT Project Management considering my current career risk caused by outsourcing IT jobs to abroad, can you advise which is better to do please? Open Uni MSc degree in project management that lasts 3 years and cost around £10K, or going for quick short cheaper qualifications such as Prince2 and APM?? I appreciate any help, thanks

I am an 11th grade student in America, and I was looking at McGill university in Montreal as a possible option. I was wondering what, if any, significant differences are there between the American system and the Canadian system.

Thanks

I've been interested in Dartmouth for a while, but have heard negative things such as the isolation, etc. If you've been there or have heard about it...please share. : ]

I have read some b-school admission FAQs saying that a bad freshman-year GPA is ok (say 2.5) as long as the candidate progresses the GPA year-over-year, ending with a great final-year GPA (say 3.6).

But what if I've been doing below average for a longer period of time (~2.5GPA for the first 5 out of 8 terms), do better this term (~3.0GPA+), and do excellent in my final year (both terms ~3.6GPA+)? Although the GPA has risen, the rise occured quite *late* (i.e. at the end of the second-last year in university). How competitive would such a GPA profile be for top b-schools? Second-tier b-schools? I plan to work maybe 4-5 years before applying for an MBA, since this will make my profile better as well as dilute the importance of the GPA.

I'm worried about my future. please help, thx!

I have been studying Biology, Chemestry, Algebra, Trig, and Calculus for the past six to eight months. To be honest the issue is that I like to learn, and I want to be the best that I can be. I am not looking for something to study in place of these, more like in addition to.

Oh!! I am very interested in the courses you suggested Matt. If you have any suggestions on internet resources to Chem, Bio, Organic Chem, Bio Chem, and the like, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am a 17 year old sixth form student who wants the best university experience possible.

Currently i have been accepted to the following universities:
Glasgow Uni, Sheffield Uni, Manchester Uni, Salford Uni, Liverpool Uni and Liverpool John Moores Uni.

I live equally close to both Manchester and Liverpool so there is no doubt in my mind that both of these cities are rich in music, art and all things cultural. However i have very little anecdotal knowledge about my other choices; only publicated information supplied by each specific university. My only fear is that my chosen university does not live up to the hype.

I intend to live for 3 years - possibly more in one of these cities; any advice, good or bad would be appreciated.

I’m a Turkish-American that recently moved to Turkey, now completing the greater part of high school (Now a junior). I go to a small competitive IB school (British system) that also gives required Turkish courses which I do poorly in. In other words my GPA is very low. I hope to get a high SAT score in order to overshadow my low GPA. Most universities require a minimum GPA, what can I do to overshadow my very low GPA? Should I take the ACT as well? (Don't do any extra curriculars or sports)

I'm 21 and have been offered an apprenticeship in I.T on low wage etc but if i do it i'm guessing it will be easier to get a job in I.T and maybe shape a carrer around that even if it doesnt really interest me that much. or should I go on a learning trip like do an access course then go to uni and get a degree in something that interests me when I figure that out? but keeping in mind I am financially poor and uni would be very difficult and even if i got a degree getting a job in that certain field say animals or something that i love would probably be impossible. and I would end up going back to where i started only in debt. sorry this isnt turning into a question is it lol just my thoughts. basically do you follow your dreams or stay with reality?

I realize that this is going to vary some based on what college you attend and which instructor that you have. Can those of you with college experience give me an idea of what you encounter most often?
1. Do college professors usually follow the same scale that I grew accustomed to in high school? (i.e. 90% and above =A, 80-89% =B, and so on)

2. Do professors typically grade exams based on the total percentage correct, or are they more likely to grade on a curve based on overall class performance?

Thank you for your input!
