I have friends who work as interpreters in Europe. They did their undergraduate degrees in the foreign language they want to work with, while taking a few Linguistics courses as their electives. Then, they did Master's degrees in Translating. This isn't my area of interest, and I don't know of any North American universities that offer graduate programs in Translating.

Well, you need to have a good background in both languages you are interpreting. If you're going from Spanish to English, I would suggest that you study English better, so you know the grammar and sentence structure. Any university or even a community college can help with the study of English. You probably know your Spanish well, but from your question, it would seem that you have more trouble with the English language, so I would concentrate on that in your pursuit of being an interpreter. Good luck! Buena suerte!

fairly incorrect, Alexander. whilst examining isn't an MOS, the army trains infantrymen to be interpreters. that would desire to point which you will would desire to connect decrease than a different MOS, and (i'm no longer completely attentive to the logistics right here) placed up a packet/persist with to alter into an interpreter. you will desire to have a undeniable score on particular components of your ASVAB, yet once you qualify and are known, you prepare anyplace you're required. in case you ALREADY talk a language, you may perhaps, once you're fortunate, detect a job as a civilian shrunk via the militia. OR, you may desire to connect the army decrease than an MOS of your determination (frequently) and persist with for a undeniable identifier based on the language you talk. no longer all languages are mandatory, although, and a few pay better than others.
