These second semester grades will determine final admission to college. Just because one has been admitted prior to the end of the second semester doesn't mean that the admission could not be revoked if second semester grades exhibit a downturn.

If the college has already accepted you (or will before the grades are over with), they're not important at all (unless they stop you from graduating high school). Most colleges reserve the right to look at them after you're accepted, but they rarely do (it may not be worth the risk, though). Also, if you're not accepted by the time you graduate, they're just as important as the grades of any other semester.

A lot of students slough off the senior courses, and that says a lot about how serious they are about achieving, doesn't it. If you have early admission the college still wants a final transcript. If you have enough credits why not just skip the senion year and go on to college? It is a waste of time to sit around a school for an entire year not learning a thing.

Well kinda important I like to think. I kinda screwed around my second semester because I figured that since I was already accepted to a college and was going to start in the fall then I didn't have much to worry about. And I didn't but I didn't let my grades drop that low though. You don't want to have to repeat any courses over the summer. You still have to pass the classes in order to graduate.

Your second semester grades will affect your GPA
(grade point average), so obviously they are important.
Even if you are accepted by a college, they would consider
low grades for your final semester as an indication of your
performance in college.
Best study and do well.

Just as important as the rest of your grades. While you often get your acceptance letter before you graduate, most universities reserve the right to review your final grades and reverse your acceptance if you fall on your face with your final grades.

IMPORTANT... A former friend was an admissions counselor at a university, and told me stories of how some (especially waitlisted) applicants blew their admission that last semester. They pay attention to *everything.*

For me it wasn't very important. I already received all my scholarships and funds from the school I wanted to go to, but I did do everything early.
