How can I make a photographic portrait without the usage of a camera? The Camera Obscura was developed in 5th century BC by philosophers but there was also an earlier technique used by ancient Egyptians.

I'm trying to choose between the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS or Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L (currently only have the kit lens - 28-135mm). Or if anyone has a better idea for a nice second lens, that advice would be welcome also. Mostly will be used for event photography such as weddings.

I need a camera for photo class and I'm looking at these two. I found a Minolta on Craigslist for way less than a Canon. but are they comparable cameras or is one really crappy? they're pretty comparable in terms of basic functions right?

During my recent beach vacation, my camera started to malfunction. Pictures look find in the viewfinder, but the final results are overexposed and contain horizontal lines throughout the image. (I've posted two pictures at cazenoviacreek.blogspot.com)

I did bring the camera down to the beach, and it did get splashed just a bit (lens was retracted) during one unfortunate wave, but it was working for two days after that incident.

I've reset the settings, and have tried many different settings, but to no avail. The video camera function still works perfectly.

Any ideas?

It comes with pretty much everything, I believe. Except the film, which you can buy pretty much at any drugstore. It's in GREAT condition. It's used, but like-new. How much at the most do you think it's worth?

I can't plug the sync cord directly into my camera, or it will fry the internal components of the Canon, which is not what I want. I can't find any information about it online, so I'm asking here. The strobe says it is a "Venca strobe" "VS 250 (117v)". It was distributed by "Venca Sales International Inc" with a NJ address and phone number that no longer exist.

I have a canon sure shot 150u camera that has been working fine (clear lens, nice pictures, good focus) I left it in my car for the past two days in the glove compartment and now the lens is foggy and I cant see unless I zoom all the way. It has been humid and I'm wondering if there could be moisture in it. I've tried using a q tip and cleaning all of the lens and eye parts but it didnt work. What can I do to fix it? Any suggestions, solutions Please. Thank you in advance

I want a really good camera, or one that takes fairly good pictures. Im looking into the Nikon D50 but im a little skeptical here, http://www.shopping.com/xPC-Nikon_D50_Digital_SLR_with_28_90mm_F_3_3_5_6_Lens , now the price is extremely cheap so im not sure if its a rip off. Anyone know? Or a good camera that isn't so expensive?

You guys are fantastic...upping ISO to 200 I have no problems with 29mm, 1/1000.

2007-09-09 04:45:37 · 2 answers · asked by Vintage Music 7

Seems anything taken at 1/1000 sec shutter priority is too dark; at full telephoto of 29mm Digital focal length). Fuji E900.
Shots that are OK are 1/500 sec, f/4, 12mm focal, ISO 80, also good 1/250, f/5.6 29MM
ISO 80.
But shots at 1/1000, f/5.6 29mm, ISO 80 too dark. I either have to lower shutter speed or not use focal length at 29mm to get proper exposure. No warning in viewfinder showing shot will be dark.
So is it me or should camera be serviced? These shots taken in bright sunlight.
