Well, your camera should have come with a cable that connects to a small port on the back of the camera, and then to the computer's usb port. Then you should get a dialouge box telling you that there's a camera plugged in. If you don't have photo managing software like google picasa, go to my computer and whatever drive the camera has appeared on (usually E:\)

Go to the directory the photos are located (it's different on every camera, but just look around), select them all and copy them. Then just shove them in 'my pictures' or somewhere. If you're no good with computers, google picasa

http://picasa.google.com/

does all of this for you, with a couple of handy features included, too.

Regards,

Rob.

Get yourself a scanner. That's the way to get all of your old photos digitized, and will be useful for uploading other stuff too like scanning old recipes, articles from magazines to email to friends, etc. The scanner is the best thing I've attached to my computer other than a printer, because it's so useful for so many things besides photos. The next best way is to get a CD made when you get your pictures processed. Most photo processors like Walgreens and Wal Mart will dot this for you, just check off the box when you fill out the envelope. ------ Think about budgeting for a digital camera in the next year or two. Film is rapidly disappearing from the consumer market, and will probably be gone in 5 years or so.

That depends on the brand camera you own. Most popular models come with a USB transfer cable and CD software disc that makes photo transfers from cam to PC a snap.

Check the camera for a small USB port. Visit the OFFICIAL website of your brand camera and look for photo transfer software--most programs offered are free to camera owners; however, you may have to register your camera first.

Next, visit the popular electronics store and ask if they carry a short USB cord that will allow you to hook the cam to your PC's USB port.

I have a kodak easy share digital camera. My camera came with a disk that had to be downloaded onto my computer. It also came with a cable that connected my camera to my computer. After I take pictures, I plug one end of the cable in my camera and then plug the other end into my computer and my computer recognizes it almost immediately, and WALA they are downloaded!
