Software - August 2007

I know how to download fonts and all, but I just don't know how to get it in this folder thing so I can install it to my computer! Does anyone know how to do this kind of thing? I need help! I'm so confused!

I have Windows Vista Ultimate and i seem to not be able open some programs or use features. I cannot open Windows media player 11, AIM 6(AOL Instant Messanger). I also cannot click on certain links in IE7 on certain websites. I have tried to uninstall windows media player but have been unsuccesful in doing so. I have looked at files like mp3 and videos and see that they are assosiated with Windows media player. I have repaired the OS and recovered the pc 3 time. Can anyone give me some suggestions on this please.

I have Word Perfect on my computer and I am trying to send my resume. Most places only accept it in text or Microsoft Word form. Do I need to go out and spend $100+ on MS Word or is there another way I can make my resume viewable when they open it in an email? I tried saving it as RTF (Rich Text Format) but that doesnt seem to work, Thanks.

I was not ready and in the process of writing a document.

I have Mozilla and in the options, I had specifically instructed no updates unless I have viewed the update and manually click on the agree button.

Has anybody else experienced this? How do you resolve the "Im-not ready for this boot" problem.

I'm 17 and female and hoping for a career in graphic design or art, and decided to do this in my free time. I didn't use a tablet to draw it, just a plain old mouse and a copy of microsoft paint. Took me about an hour in total, is it any good?

Last night I thought I'd do something I'd never done before. I went looking for a copy of XP that I could get cheap... Turns out I was lured(??) into a proposition to agree to a few advertiser's services. Such as business card printing (250 cards 'free' + the $5 shipping), School online classes, block buster trial offers etc etc. Nowhere did it even say it was a registered version of XP., but if I agreed to approximately 4 advertisers offers I would get the " MS Windows XP Professional with Service Pack "
I've been perfectly satisfied with running Windows-Me, but now I want to download my movies from my digital camera. I can't seem to find a compatible program that will read my video and then play it back. I want to download my folksongs I've written over 25 years onto Youtube.
I'm sure I might be getting tons of junk mail and phone solicitatioins, but I alredy get that. In fact I NEVER give my personal info out and I STILL get more crap than other people I know!

OK, a lot of times I'd like to use a name or part of another name as an editable start for a new save. Windows XP doesn't seem to like copying the "name" of a file anywhere.

Solutions I know about. Use cygwin or cmd and DIR or open the and then try to save the "template" from the "Save as" dialog but don't save the file.

There has to be a better way. Like a program that might implement "Send to . Frustrating.

Aside: The cygwin way allows you to print a directory list. Can't seem do it in Windows directly.

I can't stand Word or Excell. They are way too complicated and do too much for me. Usually, all I want to do is type a document. I don't want it to auto-anything! I'm also much faster typing a word than having it suggest words I've already typed earlier and pressing enter (or hitting backspace because it inputed a word instead of letting me go to the next line when I hit enter)!

I know I can turn the features off, but why do they start on? Shouldn't I choose the features I want to use before the program uses them?

I'm just curious if there are others out there who can't stand Microsoft products.

ok well i am doing this job and i had to use adobe photoshop elements and i have been working on a drawing for 3 hours already and now i was working on drawing a line and the program froze i has been frozen how for abour 15 minutes...is there any way i can get it unfrozen or at least save it so thati dont loose 3 hours of work....anything will help...please!!

There are several sites I like to go to on a daily basis. Is there any way that I can open multiple tabs simultaneously? I have found the 'add tab group' button - but this just adds all the pages in the open tabs to a folder in favourites - that then still need to be opened individually. I was hoping it would create a single line on the favourites menu that I could click and several tabs open at once.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me know if this is possible - or if it is in another browser.

OK downloading was no problem but acctually searching for music I really can't do.
I type the details in and let it search but it doesn't work :(:(:(
I leave it for the reccommended time of about 1 min and a half but it come up with no results what so ever.
I have got version 4.14.0 or something please help!!!

When I type in a search it says I am not connected to the network, and that I should click File>Connect. But i can't because 'Connect' is grey and I can't click on it, so then I click 'Disconnect' and then it freezes...grrrr

This is a complicated question, please read entirely before answering.

I am using Outlook 2003, I upgraded from 2000 for one reason - I want to leave messages on the server so I can access them via the web interface - but I also want to view them in outlook. The problem is outlook downloads them and removes them from the server.

I've asked several times on answers and people point me to this: Email Accounts / View or Change Existing Accounts / More Settings / Advanced. Then they say there is a checkbox that says 'leave messages on the server'. There is no option like that. I swear I'm not crazy, I have checked 10 times in both Outlook 2000 and 2003. The option is not there. Why is this option not listed on my outlook, when it is on everyone else's? Both copies were legit.

Because I have used both, I'm guessing its the Exchange server where this is set. Does anyone have any concrete knowledge about this? Please help.
