I was not ready and in the process of writing a document.

I have Mozilla and in the options, I had specifically instructed no updates unless I have viewed the update and manually click on the agree button.

Has anybody else experienced this? How do you resolve the "Im-not ready for this boot" problem.

Turn automatic updating on or off

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.

2. In the left pane, click Change settings.

3. Choose the option that you want.

4. Under Recommended updates, select the Include recommended updates when downloading, installing, or notifying me about updates check box, and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I just got Vista Home Basic in April. I've never had more problems in my life. However, it doesn't boot me out, it just annoys me. But here's on thing I've discovered--& this can take days from which to recover: An update will change my homepage, mess up my accounts, & arbitrarily re-arrange everything so that I have to go back & RESTORE my settings. I've decided I'm quite fine, thank you very much, & I simply ignore them. I mean, I DO NOT install. I've never had the problem you speak of, so I don't know how to help you, but if you're still on warranty, you should be able to get online instructions, (when you give them permission, they go iinto your PC & you can see what they're trying to accomplish as they go along). Norton was already installed when I got my new PC, & they charged $70. to clean up the kinks. I have it set to scan at 3a & now it never fails, but, that's Norton! I hope someone knows the answer...
