This is probably easiest to ask by example. How do I get Excel's TEXT() function to print text in, say, red? I have tried many variants but none works, including:

TEXT("Hello",;;;[Red])
TEXT("Hello",;;;[Red]@)

Conditional Formatting.
It's done at the format level, not the formula.
check the Format option.
You can format based on content or format based on a formula referring to other cells

In your Excel file
cl Format
cl Conditional formatting
where it says "if cell value is between" click the arrow to go to the worksheet, and click a cell that contains the data you want to color

where is says "and", click the arrow again, return to the worksheet, and click a different cell with the same value, then click Format

Here, select the font and color

This will color this particular value

To format a column, select the column
the command would be between, for example, A1 to B1 to color column A
