My boot disk is a basic, non-mirrored disk. Is it possible to convert it to a dynamic disk(without dataloss, or inoperability of the OS)? I get a message

"after you convert these disks to dynamic, you will not be able to start other installed operating systems from any volume on these disks"

Also, can i add a mirror afterwards with another dynamic disk ? (of the same size)

I want to burn taped songs to CD. I can 'tape out' to 'microphone in' and hear the tape on my speakers. (No 'line in' )

I'm thinking these could be a contributing factor to windows xp installations that have started to slow down.
Does windows rely on th edata gathered in these log files for the smooth running of the OS, or are they just there for activity reporting?
If I were to delete them all, would it cause problems in windows, or would the OS simply start to write new ones again from scratch?

I have a company logo/letter head on a Word document, but when I enlarge it, it looks really fuzzy and almost unreadable.

How can I convert the image (not the entire page) into a jpeg or pdf so that it looks like the original logo?

I've tried scanning the document but that didn't work.

We use linux at work and I'm sick of these same old icons. I want some Christmas ones but I need icons in a .png format. There aren't very many that I can find and they're not all that cool. Anyone know of a good site

I've tried the following batch file:
Mountvol F:\dmiso /D
mountvol f:\dmiso \\?\Volume{01234567-4297-11db-ab00-806d6a72696f}\
but it returns the msg: The parameter is incorrect.

I made up the GUID value for the volumeName; maybe, if this format is correct, then maybe I am asking how to generate a guid for my computer (That it will accept)

Many times I am on either the mac or PC then realise that a site I want to look up is bookmarked on the other machine. The 2 machines are not networked but can be when needed for a short time.

Alright, here's the deal: I just bought a pc laptop (a necessary evil) for lawschool. Having been a happy Mac-user for the past few years, I begrudgingly re-enter the world of viruses, operating system gliches, defragging, updating, constant maintenance and hard drive failures. XP Pro is the operating system I have on this computer, and now there's this upgrade to Vista. Should I stick with XP Pro or upgrade? My PC friendly friends advise that Vista will have more bugs than Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Your thoughts? Upgrade to Vista or Stay the Course with XP Pro?

I have about 50GB or so of stuff I have purchased from Itunes and have not back it up yet. I looked into using DVD's and NAS devices, but I think I can also just get a new 80GB Ipod and use it as both a portable device and my main back up for my purchased stuff. Other files, like word and excel I back up using my .MAC I-disk, but the music and video files required much more space and bandwidth, so I have to back up localy.

If I have to do a restore, will I be able to restore off of an IPOD?
