iam at 40 yrs ,working as teacher. please suggest computer courses to swith to software companies?

i am having only teaching experince of 15 yrs in engineering. please guide me what courses r suitable for me to switch over to sftware companies. whether testing tools , sap are simple to l;earn and practice?

Hi,

Dont think that I am degrading your opinion. Its too late to switch your field of working. Its better try to improve in your own field.

The reason is you do not have experience in software field and hence you should be considered as a fresher. But a fresher should be with in a specific age limit as per the norms of software companies.

I could give you real examples. When software companies came to our institution for campus interviews, many of the companies did not selected two of my classmates since they had two to three years break in their history. The reason they gave is our norms is that a fresher should be with in certian age limit during selection.

And an important thing is the two students are highly skilled both technically and in other aspects.

I think you understand.

Better work for your growth in you own field or if you are very much interested in software, you can try to open a small software companry of your own and employ some workers and manage them.

Well that is very good to see that you want to get into the tech field... There are alot of home courses you can take or study up on, but they arnt going to be acreadited. The best thing that is easy to learn and easy to do in the tech feild is going to be either web design. You can visit http://www.w3shcools.com/ once you understand how code is written its very very easy to use and do.. also a good editor is www.chami.com.. im not shure if that domain is still valid but im sure it is..

Tip: I would go to a community collage and inquire about some courses, many offer short single study courses you can take and get a certification on. That would really be your best bet. Now days with out a degree and certs, and experiance its hard to find a job in this feild. Best of Luck and God be with you!

Well, It actually depends on the stream that that you ahve been until now. However, you the one easiest way that people opt now-a-days is software testing. I myself work at HCL technologies and I understand taht people are fastly coming into this field throiugh this method thabn those who pursue Java and other professional software programmes. It is very easy and can be done in 3 months.

@ 40 don't give much stress to ur brain. As a Comp. Techy, my advice is to u is to keep urself quiet away from tech field. When u learn a technology , a new one will be introduced every hour, day etc., So u have to keep on updating ur knowledge/ awarness on latest technologies. So stay apart from computers.

Sir, as u r in a good profession, and ur intrest ito go into software filed is also good.Nothing is impossible, u can learn, the computer courses based on ur academic background.If u r from finace background , u can choose,oracle fiancials/FICO/Tally/Accounting packages etc. or if u r from Computer background, choose :: java/ABAP/OS admin/Testing tools or if u r from electronics background choose:: chip designing/Hardware/Networking/CAD etc., or if u intrested in web designing go to multimtmedia coureses. All is in ur intrest and hardwork,way is ready.
