Software - November 2006

My computer is having trouble playing mpegs. It plays the audio well but it only plays two seconds of video before freezing. I've tried installing DIVX player and re-installing Window Media player but it didn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

One of my computer has a lot of stuff on it I wouldn't want to lose. Downloaded music and word docs. Honestly.. don't have a clue how to back it up. Do I have to buy software, etc.? Can I just burn to a disc? Thanks!

Hello,

I work in a retail business and need the computer to be on all the time in order to receive incoming online orders.
After any unexpected electrical shutdown, the computer restarts but stops on users login name, waiting for the password. This is normal.

Is it possible to go over this step automatically and launch XP ???

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Nokia 6820, and I'm trying to connect it to my PC using DKU-5 cable. I have the following softwares off of nokia.com:

Nokia PC Suite 6.82, connectivity adapter cable DKU-5, nokia connectivity solution, and nokia pc connectivity solution.

All installed and ready to use. I open nokia pc suite, and it shows that no phones are connected, so I click get connected, then next, then I check cable connection and next, then when it wants me to connect cable to PC and to the cell phone, it takes like 10 minutes or more configuring then it does nothing and my cell phone is still not connected! The strange thing is that it has once worked before, but i uninstalled it. Now I made sure I removed all the nokia softwares before I reinstall them again, and I restarted several times, but nothing seems to work! Any one can help me please? Many thanks in advance!

I listen to the messanger music and everyday I have problems with the station stalling, freezing and just cutting out. How or what can I do to be able to listen to it fully? It also does this with the Jukebox program.

my girlfriends mom came and deleted a bunch of things off the computer and now my sound isnt working. when i go into the sound and devices in the control panel and i go to the volume tab i cant click any thing in that panel same goes for the audio and voice tabs, do i have to buy a new sound device or is there a way i can put it back on?

A friend has sent me a hi-res image as .bmp but i really want to get it as a jpeg without losing quality.

How do I do this? I dont have photoshop.. i have Microsoft photoeditor and paint.

I'm thinking of buying a laptop computer. But before I do, I want to make sure that the TRIAL version of Photoshop CS2 will be good for learning the basics of the program. I do have a download of WINRAR but still i am not able to extract files and play it. When i click on extract here it asks for a password and then converts to a WMV file and later says CRC failed in the encrypted file.and maybe wrong password.which password shud i give.Any help.Thanks in advance.

I want to record my church's sermons to hard disk so that they're easier to catalog. However we still have a lot of people who buy cassettes.

We need to be able to record from the computer to casette QUICKLY. Is there any software or hardware that can do this.

Hi, I wanted to change the Slide Design template to something else... but everytime I try any of the others, the text just doesn' fit and goes out of the page and so on.

When I boot my computer, I have a number of programs loading and minimizing in my taskbar. Once all of the programs are complete, I get a "boom" sound, exactly like the sound you hear when you click on an invalid link or a program that no longer exists. Is there any way to find out what program is trying to load and disable it? I've tried msconfig, but there's nothing selected that I don't want running.
