Hi,

A friend has sent me a hi-res image as .bmp but i really want to get it as a jpeg without losing quality.

How do I do this? I dont have photoshop.. i have Microsoft photoeditor and paint.

any suggestions? thanks x

Use paint if you have XP. Load the pic and save as, pick the format you want.

My first thought was much the same as those above. However, you said you didn't want to lose quality. My suggestion is to open the image in a browser and view full-screen and take a screen shot (PrtScn key). Next paste it into any picture editor which can handle JPG format and save.

Open it in Paint or Photo Editor. Click File...Save As and select the file type JPEG. Click OK.

Open the image in Microsoft discomfort. Then click on report and choose keep As......while the field comes up click the little arrow beside the section the place it says bmp and choose jpg.

open the bmp file in paint. Then save the image, then change the bar to jpg.

very simple open it into a mspaint den save_as in JPEG format.. i hope you can get it..
