I am running a windows XP desktop. I only know how to get into safe mode on my laptop not desktop. All suggestions please.

I've been burning DVD's using Nero 6 for a while now but lately I have been having problems with the disc's not playing properly.They seem to burn alright but when you try and play the disc's the menu's and extra features work but when you go to play the movie the player just returns to the main menu,I have tried the disc's on three different dvd players and the problem is the same.I am using Verbatim DVD-R disc's that were recommended by the computer shop,all previous disc's were RITEK and they all worked without any problems.All suggestions would be appreciated.

I have Int. Expl 7.0 and when I try getting on I get this message saying the program is not responding. I have to send a report and close out and start over again in a few minutes. Why is this happening so much?

I did this weekly archiving with an earlier PC, but it fatally crashed -- and the preinstalled software with it. The program made the CD-R appear as a disk drive. I then wrote my files and could read them back, just as though the files were on my internal C or D drives. Absolute magic! I would also like to burn same items on DVD-Rs/DVD+Rs as my son told me they hold so much more.

I make a powerpoint presentation every Christmas instead of sending cards, and I would like to have some background music on this year's. I have tons of music on my hard drive that I can use.
I tried to follow the help instructions that come with the program, but can't get them to work.
I saw a reply to a similar question, but I'm wondering if there is any way of locking the music file to the presentation so that when I send it, the recipient will get the whole slide show and music.

Hello - I was attempting to format my computer - running xp - when I came across an fdisk window - I wasnt concentrating and did something serious - Now I am unable to format (the machine says unrecognised media in drive C) . So .. I made a boot disk but get this message:

Disk I/O error
replace the disk, and then press any key

I dont know if its a zero or a capital O in the error message ..

Can anyone translate that error message and perhaps tell me how to fix it please?

ok latley my computer when i have been trying to install things say that the windoes installer is not installed right so i downloaded it and redid it.

My friend and I want to split the cost of a graphic software (ie PSP, PS, PSE - we're undecided) - what I want to know is, can we share the same serial number? Will it work on two different PCs, or will I have access to her files and vice versa? Can we share the serial number with other friends? Is it illegal?

In Windows XP system folders like My Computer have a "Favorites" menu on the Menu Toolbar next to the "Tools" menu. This is a nifty feature but we need to remove it to enhance the security settings o the computer. (The PC is not allowed to access the internet.)
Is there a registry setting or a simple solution to this problem? How do I get rid of this?
