The lag could be a result of A) not enough video or computer RAM, B) a slow processor speed, C) a low-end graphics card, D) a slow internet connection (if it's an online game), E) a small hard drive capacity, or a virus. You should also check for a software update on the game's website.

You need to post more information to get a better answer. Give some specs on your computer (if you can, like processor speed, ram, video card) and what type of game it is, i.e. online multiplayer, single player on your PC, etc.
