ok latley my computer when i have been trying to install things say that the windoes installer is not installed right so i downloaded it and redid it.
but it is still showing that message
i have restored and all sorts of stuff does anybody know how to fix it.

Well had the same problem and even formatting and intalling a fresh version of windows won't help, i dunno the reason but i can give u a partial solution, when u run a setup temporary setup files are copied to a temporary folder in Local settings, go there and run "setup.exe" not "setup.msi" and i think ur installation will work..

I am sure you do the update and reboot the computer then you will be ok.
