I'm thinking these could be a contributing factor to windows xp installations that have started to slow down.
Does windows rely on th edata gathered in these log files for the smooth running of the OS, or are they just there for activity reporting?
If I were to delete them all, would it cause problems in windows, or would the OS simply start to write new ones again from scratch?

The answer is (drum roll)..............NOTHING!

If a program is set to create (or append) a log file and it doesn't find one, it will just create another.

So be confident in deleting all those Log files (I hate em, they make a mess of the root of my C: drive.
