Downloaded Norton Internet Security 2008
through my bank which gives a discount and
once downloaded when I brought Norton Security
up it stated that anti virus protection is not activated.
What went wrong as the download took about an
hour and my computer states that I have Norton
internet security.

i can go online to yahoo or any other site but lately when i ve been trying to go on myspace it say "this program has performed and illigal operation and will be shut down."
how can i fix this?
i need the easiest way.
please help me.

it tells you who blocked you, they look pretty reasonable. But Im not sure if they're safe.

There is some virus in my pc which makes my mouse move all over the desktop when noone is touching the mouse.i tried formatting the entire drive and re installing the entire OS but still the mouse is moving randomnly allover.i have no idea what to do now.soem body plzzzzz help me...

Last night my mom ordered Norton again, because our sub. was running out. Well, the lady she was talking to said that she would renew us for 30 days while we waited for the stuff to come in the mail and we'd still have protection. Anyway, when I woke up this morning I tried doing something online, and the computer was running really slow, so I tried restarting it and now it keeps shutting itself off saying there was a problem. It did this last time my mom renewed Norton, and now we don't know what to do. I really don't want to lose all the files and stuff we have, we just went through that a few months ago. Is there anything I can do? I can't even get to the desktop before it shuts itself off, so don't tell me to click start and do something, I can't get to that point.

everytime i click something on the internet it says i have this virus! so i clicked on the automatic link to the virus removal software-i scanned and scanned and it said there were many errors but to fix them i have to buy the software for $29.95! How do I remove this virus without buying anything? I dont want this virus to get out of hand

this seems to be the only way to use wpa security on it, which i used for ages but my wife selected the wrong answer when switching it on one day and now i can only use the netgear interface which doesnt seem to support wpa encryption

Theres a program, which I'm sure I didn't download, that has been messing with my computer and the computer told me to remove it from the registry but I don't know how to. Can anyone help?

Yeah, i've never downloaded music/movies using p2p software/sites before, but i'm starting to consider it.
i just want to know, viruses, spyware, adware and malware aside;
how safe is it using "Bitlord" for example,
i've already got PeerGuardian 2 installed, does that really make a difference?
How legally safe is it?- if you understand me.
Is there any other software programs that could help me stay "safe" if i do decide to use p2p sites?

It pops up and downloads Files Secure. I can't get rid of it. Every scanner that says it can get rid of it says you need to buy it to remove it. Please help!

i keep getting e-mails from abbey national and natwest saying my bank account has been blocked on-line and to click on a link to reactivate it with my details. the e-mails don't address me by name, only dear client. they give a phone number which i rang and it doesn't exist. i don't belong to any of these banks so i ignored the e-mails. i was wondering if this is a scam to fool people into handing over bank details, has anyone else has had them and how can i stop recieving them?

At work I have a laptop which has Norton 360 security on it.

When I do manual scans this finds two problems

"Adware.WinTaskad" and "Adware.Windupdates"

Norton cannot - it seems - deal with these and it tells me that I need to take manual action. A clever person visited and apparently got rid of them and the computer seemed to run better. But now they seem to be back again.

Can anyone please tell me where they come from, what they do - if anything - how to get rid of them permanently and how to stop them recurring.

It goes without saying - I suppose - that I do not visit any sites that I would consider as dodgy. I use Firefox and mainly visit yahoo and hotmail for e-mail and google for the usual searches.

Answers [simply put please] as I am not 100% tecky!

I launched a new company a few weeks ago, and its been lovely seeing it grow, but it all looks in a state of collapse, as I think someone has control over my email account. The request for quotes has halted totally.(online form) but I am getting hundreds of spam coming in every 30 mins.They all have geocities.com on them, but when I filled in the block, it has not blocked one of them. I also wrote common medical words, not effective.I wish I knew how to do the section correctly. I have managed to block each email individually, but they are in christian names, and every one different, hence they are still coming.The key is to block the words http:/geocities.com.Any ideas.I have typed them in as words, but probally because every geocities has a different name before the @geocities.com .(hundreds), so the block spam filter does not work on the word genocities

how can you delete even the most hidden porn files? i had my hard drive replaced a couple of months ago but all the files were kept except the accounts were deleted. So i need to know how delete the most hidden kind and the whatever i download NEEDS to be FREE 100% and does the job well.

Windows Control Panel uninstallation doesn't work., the computer pretty much crashes. however i am aware of a little utlity provided by CA eTrust which removes the software but I can't find it on their site. anyone got the link?
