I'm going to fdisk and re-install windows. If I back up some of my files, will they infect the fresh installation?

I got the virus from a link I clicked on myspace.com. I ran a norton scan twice and the virus is still there.

I agree, the mp3s are most likely the source of your infection. Install a good antivirus scanner and antispyware programs and thoroughly scan your pc. Also most windows errors/problems can be resolved without installing the entire OS. This can be a time consuming and tedious process especially if you don't have driver/recovery disks, etc. If you are planning to reinstall your entire OS to get rid of this very minor infection I would highly advise otherwise. Try Avast Home Edition and Spyware Doctor Starter Edition to clean out your pc. These programs are completely free available on download.com and will save you a lot of time and headaches (especially if you have never done a re-install before). Trust me, I do this for a living!

Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

mp3's is prolly where you got it from. So i wouldn't keep any of them, unless you know for sure. Your pictures will be fine
