I am considering deleting Norton Internet Security 2007 and downloading either AVG or Avast for antivirus protection. Also, to take care of spyware, I was planning on downloading Spybot Search and Destroy. Would this be a smart thing to do, or should I just stick with Norton?

The Internet Security programs supposedly gives me firewall, spyware, and virus protection so I would be deleting it and replacing it with antivirus (AVG/Avast) and anti-spyware (Spybot) but then I do not know if I would have a firewall. The reason I am doing this is because Norton only finds a cookie or two when I run a full system scan, while other free scanners find hundreds of problens. So basically I am wondering if I should do this or keep Norton, or maybe you have an even better suggestion...I just want to make this computer faster.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I have broardband internet through Suddenlink cable. I was told that I could have AOL at no charge (free) is that true?

2007-12-26 08:11:28 · 3 answers · asked by John 3

It says there is a problem but they wont tell you exactly what it is or how to fix it.We tried windows help but they said it was not their problem, it was AOL e-mails problem. We went onto AOLs'help site and they would not help us because it is a free e-mail site. They recommended that she close this webpage and not to continue to this website. It is only the AOL email that is locked not the AOL web site. How can we retrieve her e-mail, there were things about Christmas orders we would like to have back.

I have a horrible spyware infection W32.Trats!inf. I have Norton 360 virus protection & it detects it and it says I have to manually uninstall and it gives me the directions, I do it then Norton says it got rid of it successfully but then I have to restart and it always is still there. It uninstalled my AVG. Did something with my Norton so its not working again and I'm going to have to reinstall it and my system is the slowest its every been and I've cleaned out countless files. Superantispyware has been run (3 times) it got rid of alot of other spyware but not this.

Sometimes I go to log on a site, type it in etc. and the screen goes completely white and in the address bar it says about blank, or something like that. I have Spyware Doctor's latest version too, McAfee Antivirus etc. Something about being hijacked, this shouldn't be, I take all the necessary precautions...what up with this?

I just got a new laptop with Vista on it. For some reason when I try to check for updates it will just run and run and run. It's like its not really running. Then when I try to install one of updates that has already been downloaded it will just stay a 0%. I looked at my update history and it says that I did get succesuflly updates. But, that was a few days ago.....I guess when it was working....

What can I do?

also...please dont tell me about I should downgrade to XP or bla bla bla....I dont want to hear about that. I want an answer to my question....

please and thank you,
Jake
