i have the full avg anti-virus (the one you pay for) and the license is valid until 19th january 2008 it says internal virus database is out of date and update manager won't update when i try to update either of these it says ' update file is damanged. please use another update file'--what does this mean? and i have tried going directly to avgs website to download the updates from there, i downloaded them but then what do you do with them?

ANY help greatly appreciated thanks!!

ok i tried putting the disc in and pressing repair, i restarting no change. now i have uninstalled it hoping to re install but it says the license has expired!! arghh! i know for definate it was due to expire the date i posted above^^
help!

Copy and paste the new files into the main AVG directory. If you get asked do you want to overwrite - say yes.

I find this a very common problem with AVG, the best way to do this :

1. Download and run the latest version, then choose repair install, you will need to restart after this to see if it works or not.

2. Remove AVG, restart, download the latest version, install again.

Its a pain in the neck thing to do, especially when you have hundreds of them running AVG.

Isn't there a Contact on that website to ask for help? They usually got one on most other sites I see. Might take a while to get a reply if it goes back and forth by Email. Some have a chat room for service. The Techs are usually very helpful I have found.

Click the Internet button to display the Internet update dialog.

Click the Folder button to display a dialog that allows you select folders. Use this dialog to select the folder that stores your AVG update files. If you click OK, AVG will search the selected folder for update files and update itself if necessary.

if you update from there site. or try this reboot, and click on update.
