gave co-worker my e- mail address and he gave me my social security no.-he did this to three differend people how do you prevent this??????

Sounds like your company's intranet isn't very secure.
I would talk to Personnel or Human Resources and express my concern.

By never giving it out. It's NOT that hard to search online for that kind of information. You gave it out sometime earlier, or some government agency leaked it out, etc.

If your co-worker just want to impress people, tell him that you're impressed and would he please stop such childish behavior that could lead to identity theft. If he refused to stop, contact HR.
