this seems to be the only way to use wpa security on it, which i used for ages but my wife selected the wrong answer when switching it on one day and now i can only use the netgear interface which doesnt seem to support wpa encryption

sorry to be confusing, its actually my wireless card that needs to be allowed to be configured by windows

Edit:

So, I assume that you have installed the device and Windows isn't seeing it? You can go to the Device Manager in control panel and see if it's installed. If installed, make sure that the device is enabled.

Once enabled, open your wireless configuration settings from the network page. You should be able to change your configurations here.

If Windows is not seeing the device, unplug the WLAN card, restart and then reinstall it. Also, Windows might not have the correct drivers for the device. You should be able to download the newest drivers for your computer from the WLAN's manufacturer.
