Some crazy .dll or virus or error

Yesterday when I scanned my computed with Lavasoft AD Aware SE Personal, I gets stuck at - c\Volume Information\. Odj.{00021401-0000-0000-0000-0000000000}930E.

Scanning cannot go after this.I waited more than an hour for the scanning to resume but nothing happened. I tried Spyboat s&d but it could not detect it.Same with AVG Spyware.I also tried anti virus Avast but it could not help.
Can anyone help please?I think it happened when a friend of mine inserted a pen drive and tried to delete a difficult MP3 music file which he got from somewhere else.

alright, so yesterday I was looking for a file from My Recieved Files, and when I clicked the folder, it was totally empty. all the stuff people sent me weren't there.

I am 10000% that I haven't re-named any folders or moved anything around. and I am the only one that goes on my computer. I checked the recycle bin, but couldn't find anything. I did system restore - it didn't get restored. I did a search on certain files, and again nothing!

I don't know what else I can do! I'm afraid someone could've hacked into my computer and taken my folder. is that possible? I do daily virus/spyware scans, and nothing's been detected.

I also haven't been doing out of the blue as well. no disc clean ups, no new downloads - nothing.

so basically, somehow all my files in a folder is missing and I don't know how to get it back and what has happened...

anyone know what's going on?

I don't even use it any more, but I always get pop-ups on it! What is a good reliable program to get rid of the crap in my computer? I know not to delete it, but it is so frustrating to be interrupted every 2 seconds by some stupid pop-up!
I have ad-aware, but that can't delete the things that are messing up my computer. It's very frustrating! Please help, and I appreciate your answers.

I am using my computer within a net of useres connected to a main server. All visited websites for all computers are saved for two days in the main server. My question is:

1. How to delet every trace of visited sites from my computer
2. How to delet same thing from the main server given that I have no physical access to it.

This may sound kind of odd, but once you've entered onto your computer through the hidden administrator account (holding F8 at startup) is it possible to find out the password of another adminstrator power account on the computer? This is a troubling security issue.

About five days ago, I logged onto my computer like normal and connected to the internet. Shortly afterward, my computer shut down randomly ,without warning. Confused, I turned it back on, only to be told my monitor was in Power Save Mode - something I had manually disabled months ago. I turned my computer back off and waited for the next day. I turned it back on, and logged onto my computer. Nothing odd happened, until I logged onto the internet. It shut down once more. Confused, I waited until the next day to try and turn it back on. This time, I did not get the chance to try and log onto the internet - about thirty seconds after me turning my computer on, my computer shut down before my desktop even finished loading. So, yesterday I tried it again. My computer shut down before I was able to even log on. Today, I tried once more, and it told me it was once more on Power Save Mode. Has anyone heard of a virus that automatically shuts down your computer?

My Virgin pc guard is saying it has found Virus w32Dialer.tcs in a file & is unable to disinfect or remove it, anyone know what I should do?
Also is Contra Virus a fake Anti Virus as I have read or is it a real program because it has appeared on my pc, I delete it via add & remove program it delete's succesfully but comes back! please help

There is a guy who took my online screen name from another site where he was good friends with the admin, stole my password and posted under my name in blogs and then when I emailed him to confront him, he took my email address and signed me up to various disgusting websites that now pummel my inbox after 8 years of spam free and now he laughs at me through email when I confront him on that.
I need to get back at this guy and not just through some Privacy Commissioner that will end up doing nothing.
Any ideas? This guy is used to crashing servers of friends of mine and wreaking havoc to a lot of people. I want to be intelligent about this and get him good. It's either that or drive to toronto and kick his *** all over the danforth. He thinks that this will never come back on him....

My antivirus program AVG free edition reports threath of trojan horse Generic4.BO but the program cannot heal or remove the file. Additionally, my CD drives (two installed) are now useless and My Compurer, after a few clicks, stops responding. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the two drives to no avail. And no can any previous restore points be installed. Any help would be appreciated

I have 2 antiviruses installed on my computer that appear on my security centre and states that at least one is up to date and scanning but only one firewall. will it do any harm to have these two on. one is avg antivirus and the other is cyberdefender security suite

My computer seems to have a virus like thing that tells me that there is active spy ware on my computer, and that i need to buy some program to get rid of it. I think it is a scam. there are these pop ups that come up on the screen that are trying to sell software. Everytime i start up the internet, instead of going to google, my homepage, it goes to this website that says security center and it tells me more about what is wrong with my computer. My security center has a virus search that has not found anything. Has anyone else had similar problems? If so how do i get rid of it?
